OK back to the budget...

W1nTry, I fully acknowlege the horrors you endure in traffic daily. There is no argument from me with how bad the traffice situation is... I rent cars from time to time so I experience it once in a while. Otherwise I am the average pedestrian. I now have to time my jobs such that I leave home either before 6:30am or after 9am and depending on where i am, if i can postpone a job, i'll get teh hell ot of POS by 2pm and call it a day. Just to avoid teh rush hour... I just lucky I work to my own schedule.

But i still feel better to sit in an air-conditioned rental in traffice(bar how expensive it gets if done too often) than to have to stand up for up to 2 hours and havign to almost push and fight just to get a taxi or maxi and THEN have to endure the traffic.

During my south runs  i was unlucky to be in the center back seat of a B-15 goin south
Taxi leaxes teh POS stand @ 2.15pm
Arrive at Courts @2.45pm
Reach Grand Bazzar 3.00pm
NEave reach the point where some unecessary bottleneck on the road till 3.30pm The bottle neck was a trailer that slip of the road, forcing single lane traffic while it was pulled out the grass...

My friggin lower back start to hurt by 3pm and I fidget and twist like a lil chile all de way to south i reach south at 4:15pm...Is a good thing that the passengers on either side of me were somewhat understanding to tolerate me.

Th factof the mater is to me. i NEED a car. I simply cannot afford to buy a new car @ $100,000+.  (Granted I  can make the deposit, but monthy payments of $2500+ is too high for a freelancer!) foreign-used is the next best thing for me.

As long as Imchan ent do nothing too drastic, i fully support his association's stance against the gov't. you shoulda see him on TV6 last night!

to touch on the bus route Issue.. It only have 2 points on the bus route where i'd actually take a chance:
1. from Croisee (coming off 5th Street) to the turn off between teh Terminal and the San-Juan sub-station/Courts.
2. from Carib factory lights to the lights to head south.

had signed a NEW, 5-year contract extension.  Interesting aint it.

I personally thank god everyday that owning guns has remained out of our constituation.
And even though yes if you really wanted a gun you could do so very easily, if guns were legal for everyone to own, trinidad would be like a million times worse off than it is now.
It would be like baltimore, liqour store, gun store, liqour store, gun store.... yeah...

I don't think Trinidad is ready for that yet. So I agree - HOWEVER, do note that in some places, it works VERY well. Concealed carry dropped crime in Texas like a lead weight. Who the heck is going to try robbing a quick-e-mart, when every patron is the store may point a gun at you? Licensed guns also provide an easy trace back to their owners, vs guns bought illegally, which are obtainable easily enough anyway. I believe in the right to bear arms, but i also believe the people and government have to be ready to accept that kind of responsibility.

A rail is a great idea. I'd LOVE to see it made. Regular city to city transport becomes so easy with it.

For legalising guns you need some strict laws and be ready to bury a few people before it can be controlled. Belgroves will love it.
Though im not against firearms, i think its not the way to go i think gun amnesty is the way THEN some seriously harsh i mean outrageously harsh laws against murderers,rapist, drug dealers and pushers and thieves. We talking about castration for even touching someone under the age of 16. Harsh right? Bet they'll think trice before even thinking about it.
You kill someone....you are proven guilty......regardless of if your mother says your a good boy...the hardware next to the prison will sell another 4 ft length of rope and some board while fellow prisoners dig your hole.
OH yea......and start back corpral punishment in school.......beat the violence out of the children...to this day i still fraid to get a sum wrong in Common entrance maths....(shudders at the taught of Mr.Sookdeo's guava whip)

^^^  I agree.  Fear of a good (or bad, depending on your point-of-view) cutass from teachers and parents alike made me do QUITE well in school.

Cutass from parents I agree with - i'm for regulated punishment in schools - i.e. parents give permission. I've seen teachers that use excuses to beat the shit out of students in the past. That kinda violence just begat's more violence. You never hear about children hitting back, back then, but now, god! I consider rape to be the most severe of all crimes, and I used to think castration was acceptable. But that starts to get aweful close, to a certain group of people that take themselves way to seriously, pulling fingernails off shoplifters, then chopping off their hands on a second office. Now I'm of a different mind, jailing the rapist for life, having him share a room with Bubba who'd want to dance with him.

i could make a good guess where you comming from, punishments should fit the crime to an equal value, i agree.
However, sometimes an example needs to be set, unfortunatly.
In such countries crimes is not rare, but is not a prevalent thing, beleive it or not, it's just that war is.

As it is in trinidad the good police are being held back because of the lack-a-dasical attitueds of the coleagues.
And the majority of police are lazy sob's. (read my other post to get where i comming from, cause i talking from XP)
And criminals have too many rights. I don't believe in taking any life reguardless of the crime. No man have the right to say when any other man should die. But more severe penalties will make even the most hardened criminals thingk twice.

So not even in self defense should one take steps to defend oneself? If someone was coming at you with a knife with the intention of seriously hurting you and you saw a piece of 2x4 on the ground, you'll leave it there cuz I guess by your logic, you'll take that knifing like a man.

LOL nah in terms of self defence  i think thatis why the adrenal glands were made it would be smart. All the same i think descreation should be used once the person is incapciated you should stop beating them......but i like the sound of the punishment should fit the crime and no war is going to be fought here we're too small and two batallions are enough to secure our defeat
