Hear what dred, open the pics up in PS and shrink them down to 800x600 or 640x480, or somewhere in those regions, so the pics would fit easily...

Well, since the thread is going in that direction, I might as well take this one off the sticky list and sticky the tournament on the 2nd of July.

Well Part 2 for my Road to the Grand Battle has been completed, time to launch the 3rd part:
Date
: Sunday July 16th, 2006.
Venue
: University Of The West Indies, Student Activity Centre.
Entry Fee
: $50.
Prizes
: 1st - $500, 2nd - $200. Additional prizes to be handed out based on the Trivia Challenge.
Format
: Advanced, 8 round Swiss format.
Registration Time
: 10am - 11:30am.
The first two provided some solid competition, Chaos Legion claiming top honours in both times....shall we see it go to a 3rd tournament? Hope to see even fiercer competition; prizes for the big one are already being organised...
If you need to contact me about this tournament, or for later updates in these series of tourneys leading to the Grand Battle (there are 3 more left after this one), I can be contacted @ 748-4504.

Well congrats once again to Rio Charles, who stunned most of the turnout, though a bit smaller than normal, to come and claim the top place once again, using an insect deck! Props to you boy Rio dred!!!
Well not much else to say, look out for later announcements for later tournaments very shortly...

Yes. A fine tournament indeed. Probably one of the biggest props I can give out right now is to Rio, for conquering that tournament with an unorthodox deck type. And by 'unorthodox', something that wasn't cookie cutter, and was a deck he could truly say was his. I tell you....those Doom Dozers are serious pains in the behind.
I'd like to give props to einstein for his Cyber Stein deck, and really wowing people over with the plays he made there. Well done, man. You made OB proud, even if you do take a tad bit long in making decisions.
I just wish I hadn't had that migraine attack during the course of the tournament, though.
It not only drove me up a wall, but sent me on a virtual PMS trip.
My apologies to Riaz and Michael, I'm sorry you guys had to put up with that from me.
Due to that and the fact that I want to focus on my comic carrer, though, I'm considering temporarily retiring for a while. Not the 'I'm quitting and selling out' type, though. More like 'I'm just taking a break'.
There are some events, though, that I won't miss.
The PC tournament this Saturday? Been pushing that too much to warrant missing that now, and the first prize is too good to pass up.
The Chaos Legion tournament shows a lot of promise, so that I won't miss, either.
And SPK's big tournament in August is something I won't miss out on for the world. Anything else is a definite 'maybe' for me right now.
Truth be told, these blasted headaches I've been getting are progressively getting worse, to the point where I need medication to deal with it. So, my dueling career is a bit in jeopardy right now. I'm hoping that everything would work out to prove otherwise, because I love this game, and I think I've been around far too long to stop now. Here's hoping for the best.

well NEO you have to do what you have to do, and at the end of the day your health comes first, though we will miss your antics if you do go
. btw that wasn't a stein deck it was a swap deck that abused the fact that stein was supported. and dsi i know i play slow but i rather think sumn thru and make the right play rather than rush sumn and do something i would later regret, though that didnt seem to help during game 2(why oh why did i attack that lily)

SPK's Road To The Grand Battle - Part 4.
«
Reply #717 on:
July 30, 2006, 10:24:25 AM »
Part 3 for my Road to the Grand Battle has been completed, time to launch the 4th part, some changes are gonna be in effect this time around though:
Date:
Sunday August 6th, 2006.
Venue:
Malick R.C. Church Hall, 6th Avenue, Barataria.
(Directions: From the EMR, when you reach by the 6th Avenue junction, look up north (to the hills), and you will see the church on the hill. Head up north until you reach the bottom of the hill before the church, there will be a driveway there that leads up to the back of the church...that will lead you straight to the tournament area, you can contact me if you get lost in any way).
Entry Fee:
$50.
Prizes:
1st - $500, 2nd - $200. Additional prizes to be handed out based on the Trivia Challenge.
Format:
Advanced, 7 round Swiss format.
Registration Time:
10am - 11:00am.
Conditions:
1) Participants should not reach until 9:30am, so that Sunday Mass is not disturbed in any way, or if you do reach before, talking and making noise will have to be kept to a very bare minimum.
2) You will be on church property, so keep in mind when it comes to your language, as well as your volume! Anybody who consistently exceeds a certain level of volume in talking
WILL
be ejected from the tournament premises without refund.
3) Tournament WILL start by
11:30 AM FOR THE LATEST
, because the venue is available to us until 5:30pm, so we have to be done by that point, so make sure you come up between 10am and 11am.
4) Spectators wishing to stay will have to pay an entrance fee of $40. Individuals wishing to conduct card trades will have to pay a fee of $40 as well BEFORE they start trading. Upon entrance to the area, individuals will have to indicate their mode of participation in this event (player, trader, spectator) and pay their appropriate fee. Failure to pay will result in the individual being unconditionally ejected from the premises.
5) Under no circumstances will spectators be allowed near the tables while a tournament match is underway.
These conditions have to be put in place to keep in line with the rules and regulations set out by the management of the location. It's not the most ideal set of conditions, but we don't have much of a choice right now, and future use of the location will depend on how the crowd present on the date behaves.
If you need to contact me about this tournament, or for later updates in these series of tourneys leading to the Grand Battle (there should be at least 1 or 2 more tourneys before the finals), I can be contacted @ 748-4504.

Awesome. I like the way you set this one up, Anil. Very well done.
I'll remember to pay my proper respects since we're on church property, though. I just hope a few certain people know to keep quiet.
Count me in.

Well if things hold properly, there will be 2 more tourneys left before the finals, one in north and one in south, so keep a lookout for these events. I just hope we get a decent turnout this time around cuz the rent was a bit hefty this time, so we need a good tourney turnout....
