Has it really been that long?

It seems like just yesterday all that chaos re: 9/11 took place. Has it really been 5 years already? Hmmmm time flies. Well today marks the 5th year since the attacks and everyone should take a minute from their lives today to remember all the people who were.

hmm..  i remember i just walked into the office, and everyone was by the tv, watching the second plane crash into the tower..
was thinkin damn.. it was people just like me, going to work, and get caught up in that..

I was at home, and I just happened to turn on CNN (I was planning to do nothing but watch cartoons all day) to see the first tower smouldering. Then, I watched as the second plane swung by and smashed into the second tower. It was something that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I'd not soon forget.

If you haven't already seen it, take a look at United 93. It's a movie about the plane that was hijacked, but never hit it's target...puts some perspective on what happened that day.

I recall now getting up at 8.45am just in time to see the 1st building smouldering on TV and then seeing the the 2nd plane fly in....

I remained transfixed to that day for the rest of the day. My sister had passed through one of the towers on her way to work just 15 minutes before the first plane struck.

It was a silent yet anxious 2-week wait to learn if my sis was alive or not.

If I didn't leave the U.S. in August 2001 an dI still remained there...I would have probably been in the Marines right now.
Maybe I'd be killed instantaneously...who knows

Aside from that...for the victims who lost their lives on that faithful day...rest in peace and God bless...

yeah 5 years already, very surreal.

I was at school in new jersey and was in the book store getting some stuff for class.
Saw everyone in the store staring at tv and saw something on fire and thought, whats the big deal?
some building on fire?
Then i saw the second plane hit and i was like ? is this for real???

THen the air raid sirens in philly went off and everyone was like .... WTF>??

i didnt even have a tv when i was in school so i didnt even know when they started bombing afghanistan.

I showed up for my conspiracy theory class and heard people talkin bout the us bombing, and i was like, who are we bombing?
They were like afghanistan and iam like, the country? Why? did they send the planes and people were like no, bin laden did and i was like uhhh... isnt he saudi?
And they were like yeah but hes in afghanistan...

THats when i started to get scared for trinidad.
Anyways. Way to surreal that 5 years could pass so fast.

Yeah Boss 5 years already walk into the office and someone say huh is 9\11 boy and i was like wow.
5years ago i didnt know anything that happened until i reach home from work  it was like a media blackout around me , thhn when i heard it was like wow because face it we all have family across there.

I was actually in PA meh cousin called me and told me to put on the tv. I was like holy $h!t. I put it on jus in time to see the second plane hit.

But it was a shame how some citizens treated anyone who looked afghanistanian. They wasnt goiing on shooting them but were getting treated very differently any indian person would get it.

BTW is united 93 fictional how would they know wat went on, on that plane?

yeah dread the racial hate that spread was disgusting!

i remember people gettin pulled off of planes afterwards for simply looking middle eastern!
and they were like thats against my constitutional rights! how can this be allowed!
And the FAAs response was that the airline has the right to do what they feel is neccessary to maintain the security of their passengers, including removing persons off of the plane for no other reason than other passengers being uncomfortable with your presence.

Then there were incidents in school, where the feds came flying into classrooms to arrest "suspicious" persons. It was sooo blatantly racist it wasnt funny.

Almost every middle eastern looking person was at one point or another arrested adn removed from class for investigation. always with some non sensical reason.
There was a guy on the gymnastics team who was middle eastern and he had a bag of powder that gymnists use to dry there hands when they are on the uneven bars.

He wasnt the only one with said bag of powder, but someone called the feds and said a terrorist looking person had a suspicious bag of powder and that it could be anthrax. It was ridiculous.

I didn't see any of it live. I was in M26B in the mech building at the time. I heard about it, but my first reaction was, someone flying a small craft maybe had difficulty and flew into the towers. A walk over the SAC and I was like WHOA, THAT kinda plane... I did see the towers FALL though. My condolences for those who died and their families. I often wonder if the REAL individuals responsible for this (whether it be true to a conspiracy theory or just plain as is) how they must feel knowing their actions have spawned such hatred in this world. If indeed there is a next world after this one where retribution is great, I can say that person gonna have REAL pineapples up their @$$.
