lol @ wilmer for real, wdmc he know bout dissin people? he cant speak properly!

I think mtv totally forked up with this over commercialised thing they doin now, baego yu say they needed to change to keep up with the times and larry yu say they needed to change programming for demographics.

Yall remember when mtv used to stand for soemthing, used to stand for everything that was against precisely what they have become.
What mtv has done is alienated their core fans, the people that helped them become mtv.

I havent watched the vmas for 3 years, i havent watched the movie awards for 3 years.
THe shows that i did used to watch that may still be on mtv, i wont even bother to try and watch because i have to put up with to much filth in between.
I only watch mtv 1 day of the year, and that is new years day to watch the ball drop
simply because the viacom building is like the best spot in times square, the only other cooler spot is the virgin records building but unfortunately no coverage from there, so i watch the ball drop, then i change the channel.

Mtv2 is like a ghost chanel, do we even have that?
And mtv2 is like the lowest budget cable chanel ever! they pay no attention to the presentation of the music its despicable.

The thing that made trl great was that it was viewer driven and the presentation was vibrant and fresh.

If u watch trl now, they do not play more than 30 seconds of any video, that makes NO %^&^*&%^ SENSE!

and BET... lets not even go there
the once proud BLACK ENTERTAINMENT CHANNEL, is now owned wholly and completely by viacom, nice white company, same ones that own mtv and vh1 as well, cute coincidence.

Vh1 on the other hand, became crappy from the way it used to be, but now it actually does serve a purpose, i can go there sometimes, like early mornings and see some rock videos, the WHOLE video too, thats pretty cool. And even though they are now the channel for counting things.

all they do whole day long is countdown this or that, ITS ALL FOCUSED ON MUSIC!!
GET A HINT MTV!! PLAY MOREEE MUSICC!!

YUR NAMEE IS MUSIC TELEVISION!! WHAT PART OF THAT DONT YU UNDERSTAND???

yea ... mtv have warehouses full of music videos they could play ... Enough to play for a few months without you having to see the same ones (beside hits) more than once...

well i wouldnt lie, viacom making giant steps in that direction if that was there idea. to take over the world, owning pop culture and the insipid minds that follow such things is a great step.

Thankfully the gaming generation is mostly un popified especially the pc gamers who see them selves as elitist of a sort( i proudly admit iam an elitist, i still think gatt should be an elitist society and i dont care if that makes me sound like hitler). So the gamers are the last line of defense against viacoms bid for the minds of the youths. I mean, how many gamers go to mtv vh1 and bet for anything gaming/anime/computer related? none right. Cept for that special mtv had on fatal1ty, there is nothing to anchor me to them gaming wise.

Now if viacom bought g4....hmm
see where iam coming from right.
anyways...

Yall remember when it was zdtv.
That stood for zif davis tv, the largest media house in the world.
not sure why they sold it though but it was really good back in the day, iam sure we can all admit zdtv was heads above g4

They were good as ZDTV but they didn't have enough content, IMHO. There was Screen Savers, Call for Help, X-Play, Fresh Gear and ... not much more. When they first merged with G4, I thought that was about as good as it got. You had some good shows on ZDTV plus a few good ones from G4 like Judgment Day, Cinematech, Electric Playground, Filter, Icons and G4TV.com. If they had kept that lineup, that would have been my favorite channel. Now, though, there is too much un-games-related stuff on.

I understand that they need to fill 24 hours but a majority of that should be games and tech related. It is definitely not so anymore. Is like they assume all gamers are into Star Trek, Anime, car tuning, drifting, and now they even have Comedy Central reject-type shows like Man Show.

I forget one of the best shows on G4 ... Players. Now tell me that wasn't a show to watch. I used to enjoy seeing dem musicians and actors talking about and playing games. You get to see who is de real gamers out there. Dey had Sean Paul playing some Vice City and talking about how he real like de soundtrack. Dem fellas from Lord of the Rings was on one time talking about which of the guys was the biggest gamer. I surprised that G4 don't have that show on anymore. It seems to kinda fit in with what they are doing. At least it ties in entertainment and games. Side note ... I remember seeing an interview with Ben Affleck a while back (probably on TechTV). He had said he was real into games and that is what he spends most of his money behind. He also said he was beta-testing this game called Warcraft III. When I hear him say that, I say he real good. I had much respect for him from that day.
