i highly doubt that, at least not soon
360 is still cheaper and ps3 exclusives dont do 360 numbers, something which needs to change

Only the 4gb version of the xbox 360 is cheaper than the PS3 right now.

I doubt many gamers gonna spring for that over the 250GB (I could be wrong though)

and @ vice... i thought we discussed why ps3 exclusives dont do xbox numbers already... as a collective ps3 exclusives will be more than xbox exclusives.. because ps3 has soooo many good exclusives when compared to xbox...

but either way... the competition is good.. with 360 just barely surpassing ps3 in total units shipped

well judging from from this http://www.vgchartz.com/hw_annual_summary.php (assuming the information to be correct), the PS3 has been outselling the 360 for the past couple of years (2009, 2010) and this year seems to be no exception. If this trend continues then the then the takeover may be sooner than you think.

Yes PS3 has been outselling Xbox worldwide for a while now, its only in the US where Xbox has the lead. Also consider the xbox had a 1 year headstart. I predict by this time next year PS3 will have outsold 360 worldwide. I dont think they will ever outsell in just US tho.

that excuse cud only fly this year as we had alot of exclusives in 1 year thanks to delays
other than that u usually get 2-3 exclusives a year now if u tellin me ps3 ppl so broke they cant afford 3 exclusives a year then sum wrong

This year was a mess with so many so close together so thats a valid excuse for poor sales. Most of the blame with low sales has to do with sony's failure to properly push and market their games.

GOW, UC, GT, MGS (not exclusive anymore tho) all sell themselves

The PlayStation Network is taking the day off tomorrow. In a post on the official PlayStation blog , Sony gave gamers a heads up that the PSN would be taken offline for "routine scheduled maintenance."

 
The PlayStation Store will be closed for business tomorrow.
The downtime is scheduled to begin November 17 at 8 a.m. Pacific and last until 10 p.m. While some users "may be able to play online" during the maintenance, Sony has said that PlayStation 3 and PSP owners will not be able to log into the PSN website, access the PlayStation Store, or register new accounts.

Sony is using the maintenance time to introduce new game sharing restrictions. When the service is restored, users will only be able to download new game content purchased from the PlayStation Store to a maximum of two PlayStation 3 systems or two PSPs. Currently, a single user account can download games on up to five different systems. Once users hit the limit of systems, they will need to deactivate their profile on an existing system before activating it for use on another machine.

All game content purchased before tomorrow's downtime will only be subject to the previous five-system limit. Additionally, Sony plans to establish a website where customers can manage their PSN accounts and deactivate specific devices attached to their account. Currently, systems need to be deactivated through the device itself or by calling Sony's consumer services department.

The aforementioned restrictions apply only to game content. Video content purchased through the PSN can currently be moved to a single PS3 and up to three PSPs, and those limits will remain in place after the PSN service is restored.

At least one development outfit within Sony’s Worldwide Studios division is ceasing work on PS3 in favour of building next-generation games, a new report claims.
The unnamed studio “appears to be involved in the development process of the graphics technology adopted by Sony’s new hardware”, according to Edge .

It is not known if the Sony studio is working on a fixed green-lit project, or experimenting with several ideas to present to the PlayStation executive arm.
Develop reported last month that several Sony studios had begun preliminary work on PlayStation 4 games projects, but Edge is stating that at least one studio is dedicating all resources to the new system.

Few in the games business expect a new PlayStation to launch before 2014 – the next few Christmases will likely see Sony marketing software for PS3, Move and its new Vita handheld.
