Ok a little survey here.
Back when I upgraded to Flow...PSN downloads used to run at max flow capacity. 6mb connection = about 750kb/s. So everything was nice. It was so fast that my PC couldn't load any web pages as the PS3 using all the bandwidth lol. When we got upgraded to 10mb connection...It was full capacity also for like 3months.

After that and up to today the speeds have gone ridiculously downhill. From my estimation..download speeds I get are at max 250kb/s.
So I really want to know if Flow throttling my speeds...or if its PSN limiting download speeds etc.

Fellaz on blink connections higher than 2mb. Download speeds are at your line capacity?
Blu_Vice..you get full 15mb download speedS? aka your psn downloads downloading at over 1megabyte a second?

Its not that I "not" getting my bandwidth. I download from servers like rapidshare, apple etc at full line capacity (1-1.2mb/s)...its just with PSN and as mentioned on other threads...youtube videos load slow as hell.

but what speeds do you get during the day anyway? how long does 1 megabyte take to download on PSN? 1 second? 2,3,4? and divide 1megabyte by the amount of seconds for the speed:P

like right now a download on psn is going at average 9 seconds per mb. 110kb/s or so...sigh.
At 1-3am the speed does go up...but only to about 300kb/s.

might be psn cause you ruled out flow when you said you get http downloads that max out your flow line.Try adjusting the MTU to 1492 in network connections see if that helps or delete and recreate your network profile.

i think is jus PSN.
especially if d store now update an u grabbin stuff it moves kinda slow
doesnt affect me i leave that on overnight while it doin some folding and wake up everything done.

my torrent speeds etc dload at great speeds tho and the PC is connected wireless, whereas the ps3 is wired.

really feel is just PSN.
dvon dloads at good speeds as well on his PC and he running 10Mbps also

I had done some reading and some ISP's dynamically limit speeds to eg.) PSN...when you use that service heavily.
So if its a case that others on flow getting good speeds and I ain't.... then I'll have to make a call


@ Blu... my cousins etc abroad get max line speeds all the time, and really high speeds at peak also. They download 2gb stuff in 15mins time etc.
It could be that Sony capping speeds to overseas people. But I really wanna know if flow and blink people having slow speeds also.
Gimme a estimate of what download speeds ya'll getting on PSN.

PSN has always been slow for me, it has never maxed out my line capacity. I can max it out if I use a bunch of connections with my torrents etc. on Flow 10 mbit. I did find that Xbox Live had better download speeds, then again it is a paid service so that is expected.

I'm on Blink 4MBp/750KBp and i get an average of 3.2MBp download on PSN and about 450KBp upload.

That's assuming a clean connection between my wireless router and console, and no other PC's or consoles using the network.

plus d laptop wireless as well and all 3 always on connected on d network.

doesnt affect me really if i gettin slow-ish PSN speeds
once my torrents and PC dloads moving at d speeds i should get i doh mind

Apprentice I not sure what the exact speed is like I am getting on PSN now but I do know I have never ever downloaded at my full line speed from PSN either on my 10mb Flow or 2MB blink.

hmm alright... well seems its a slow speed all around for flow.
but for blink thats double what I usually get on the 10mb connection...interesting.

I pretty much lost my internet since Wednesday 24th March. I thought that it was just flow doing maintenance (every Wednesday I usually get internet trouble for the whole day).
It came back Thursday late-late-night. Come-&-Go throught Friday.

Now, my bro called Flow on Thursday morning and they investigated it right then while on the phone. They wanted him to hold on longer and then said that they have a signal problem with the whole of my area (Tarouba) and that it wasn't just me. They said to wait till Friday for the latest for a fix.

Apparently they're still fixing cuz I'm still not getting a smooth experience as I always had before Wednesday. It's only now that everything seems to start to get better bit by bit.

I dunno if this is happening to anyone else but I recommend calling flow about it, The_Apprentice.
I haven't tried downloading from PSN since I got back to using the net today, but I always download the day after the PSN updates simply because it takes too long. It's always about 10-30x faster if downloaded the next day. I doubt it's a PSN problem unless you're downloading on update-day.

I've also heard some rumours about flow not giving full speeds. But whenever I used FDManager for Gametrailers.com I always get my full 1.2MB/s.

yea i use to get da problem since december
had to keep in flow ass to fix da and it only now fix like around d 22nd of feb

rel had to stick in flow mc
cuz $690 is not no joke money to pay an then not gettin service on d days i use it most (fri-sun)

had to talk to a supervisor cuz d mcs at flow seriously wud make u feel to cuss dem.
is like they readin out a manual an doh know how to properly trouble shoot and when i keep explainin that this procedure has been done the last 10 times i called an it NOT wokin they insist to do it again stueps.

i make sure an take my rebates tho i not playin dat lol

i honestly believe it will be much better than XIII
from the time XIII was goin multiplatform i knew they would be changes to suit the western audience more......hey just look at MGS Rising...im pretty sure that gonna be more western as well...meaning more run an gun gameplay an not focused on stealth as previous MGS games and will definitely have much shorter cutscenes

if your folders on your flash drive aren't named "MUSIC" , "PICTURES" , "VIDEO" then press triangle and click display all and u should see all the files that the ps3 can read (vids, music, pics) displayed
