!EVERYTHING! PS3

I'll consider CoD 4...killed it on 360 & Ps3 already. And if the 80 GB model is compatible with my Linksys wireless router then even better, in other words, if the PS3 somehow manage pull me away from my Wii by a long shot (doubt it will ) then I'll be online on PS3 as much as I am on MSN (Thats alot). Also looking at those Single player titles, but meh...don't relly plan on buying much games for it, maybe the top 5 highest rated or something like that, I'll skip on Resistance FoM and go into Resistance 2 one time, reason being Resistance 2 might pull everyone away from the first game and online may not be as fun and it might score higher than RFoM...I know this method of choosing may not be the best but it's seriously saving me money.

Me likey...I'm getting a VGA Cable ( http://www.gameyeeeah.com/ps3wii-vga-cable-p-746.html ) that is both compatible with PS3 and Wii (Even more of a reason to get a 360 PS3 Hope you dont mind me teefing that cross out thing Apprentice). Oh and...does it make sense for me to buy HD-DVD Blu-Ray Discs if i dont have an HDTV?...Oh that's right even the oldest of Computer Monitors display up to 720p 0.o

The complaints about the ps3's lack of ram, etc... is no complaint at all.
Its all in the who develops the game, and how good their programmers are..

Have you seen games like Uncharted in action?
When that came out it was the best graphics on console to date.

Framerate issues? NONE
And the game was fluid.

@ the Blu-Ray drive complaints...just wtf...
who cares...the bottom line..it works...
If the game has installs...i dont really care..
I just wait out the little 5mins (if that much) and be done with it :|

Framerate issues ARE on PS3, especially in UT3 and Half Life Orange Box.....but it is NOT because of power, its programming.
the programing for the PS3 is STILL an issue.....a VERY BIG issue with many companies. Programmers already piss and moan about having to dumb down a game for a console and now hate the idea of having to learn a COMPLETELY new programing language for a PS3 title

hence they port it, hence the port is obviously not done well....and you have framerate issues in certain events. Of course patches can fix the issue.

Never fear, with the increased demand for PS3 consoles it would mean the increased demand for PS3 games. The developers would realize they get greater utility if they make games for the PS3 and eventually make games for the PS3 with LESS ISSUES.

Ever notice they advertise a game on PS3/XBOX 360 but never really say which one it was developed for first? Give you a bit of info

EVERY EA game previous generation was a PORT from the PS2 version to Gamecube, XBOX and sometimes even PC....this i know FIRST hand, those that know my contacts will know what i mean.

Currently, every SINGLE EA game is a PORT of the 360 to PS3....for CERTAIN. It will change, but as of now....no.

I am however VERY impressed with the strides SONY is making with its current exclusive titles. I anticipate a VERy good year for SONY.

So i tried the Monster Madness Grave Danger whatever game demo. And i REALLY liked it, it isnt really much in the technical department. Top down view.....kill everything.....monsters everywhere. But the characters are SO unique and funny and great to play, along with your upgradeable weapons.

I was going to puchase this thing like some 5 or 10 dollar PSOnline downloadable game only to find its a full on PS3 game....and then....NO.
Its 40 dollars....ill wait till it drops to 15 or so. Then ill buy it for the helovit. Its fun as a party game.

I played the Siren Demo and to tell the truth i didn't like it much.  I don't know if it's my SD TV, but everything in the game is so dark and it looks like they were trying to go for the Silent Hill 2 grainy look, maybe I need to give it another try on an HD tv.  Controls felt a bit hard to get used to as well, also need to get myself a damn credit card, seems PSN doesn't accept check cards, heh .

Yes the Siren demo was disappointing.
It has the element of fear in it, but they have COMPLETELY failed to utilize what makes Siren stand out in survival horror.
Siren prides itself on the "sight jacking" concept. Essentially you can jack into a monsters head and see what they are doing. That way you can assess a situation, see how many they are and where they are positioned. That way you can determine if to go in or avoid the enemy.
The side effects are that during a sight jack your character cannot move, and are in a trance state, so essentially you must find a safe place to sight jack, but then you can only do it when within a certain range of the enemy.

This is COMPLETELY put under the radar in the demo, which is way too short. They put you in a basic control situation, a presumed fast paced situation and an action sequence, all of which can be handled in different ways but none priding itself on effectiveness.

on my HD it is still WAY too dark. However I do like the element of it, it forces you to play in the dark, in a sense, and also makes you choose to use the flashlight or not at the risk of attracting enemies. I like that.
However the fixed camera is a SERIOUS issue here. You SHOULD NOT be using this in current generation consoles at all. This issue should either be replaced RE4 style with over the shoulder and crosshairs or with some smart camera feature. The camera look is COMPLETELY useless as well.

I had high anticipations for this game. The story seems very good, and very interesting, its just got way too much technical issues to overcome to experience a good survival horror like this. I'll rent this game.

Playing devils advocate for this game though, Siren was never meant to really be for US audiences. Silent Hill, Siren, RE, Fatal Frame are really meant for the Japanese audience. If you have not noticed the Japanese audience prefers a fixed camera view or some sort of smart camera. Ever wonder why they dont play a huge amount of FPS titles? Look at all the FPS titles we play, how many are made in Japan compared to how many are made in the US/UK or elsewhere.

Well I totally Dig SH and Fatal Frame too right and I don't mind that the Japanese seem to be scared of the left analog stick but the controls here seemed to be a little off.  I'm gonna try playing it again tonight in total darkness just in case though because I really want to like this game.

The camera was pretty wonky in the Siren demo..
I didn't really like the game all that much..

But my sister and dad liked it...
My sis even played it twice in a row...

So I watched the E3 SONY press conference....it was good. But it was not great.....well not for the hardcore gamers

It appears that both SONY and MICROSOFT are attacking the casual market allot now.

The big showboats for the SONY conference were

1. as of TODAY movies are available for rental or buy via the playstation store (well tonight). A nice feature is that you can seamlessly transfer the movies to your PS3 or PC to your PSP.

2. Resistance 2 playable build was shown. That was NOT a demo. It looks very impressive, the stage and story is set for a great game. 8 player online co op which i know Apprentice go love and 60 player online multiplayer.

3. Little Big Planet....some nice features....cute game. Could be lots of fun if done right. Im liking the ability to make your own levels from a 2D style Contra game to something simple like a golf course. Then you can bring friends in to play with you

4. PSP games.....well WOW. lots of them. Most impressive is the Resistance coming to PSP. Force Unleashed, Lego Batman etc etc is to follow.

5. There was MENTION of SOCOM, KILLZONE 2 and God of War 3. GOW3 showed a 15 second video with just a short scene with Kratos on a destroyed Mt. Olympus. The others were shown in snippets in "what PS3 has after 2008"

Not bad, not great. But i think the cross platform titles are a big deal. SONY is pushing the PS3 as more of a multiplatform family system than a hardcore system, when its really both.

some PS2 games were also shown, the same PS3 games are coming to PS2 like Force Unleashed, Lego Batman and so forth.

But I pretty much enjoyed this conference.

Hey all,

Has anyone been able to view the PSN Video Store? I've been looking for it since about 1 this morning even though News sites say its been out since about 12:05..

Maybe its a regional lockout kinda thing? Sony said that they are barring access to the video store by blocking particular IP addresses.

If anyone can log on to it please gimme a reply..

Its the same with Microsoft, so don't feel too bad...Poor trinis can't even download movies to watch on the 360...hopefully the Netflix arrangement and the new grouping system on Live in the fall helps with that situation. If I can host a movie and invite the trini 360 crew to watch with me, hopefully it works...

GET Battlefield Bad Company....Doh be telling me "i does only play cod 4"....get the mc game, it very VERY good ( gave it a second shot and really like it now) and im buying it this weekend to try some online play on PS3..(Because my mc 360 gorn to fix AGAIN.....USB ports fail - least i doh hadda pay for it.....again).
