Just 1 thing I have to re-mention. In addition to the 600USD price tag, yuh need to tack on another 1000+USD for a good HDTV otherwise yuh really wasting time buying next gen. Games on 1080 HD are spectacular compared to 640x480 or 480i. So that's where that extra 100 or 200USD is really gonna hurt. Sure yuh get HD content with BR but again without a HD tv, what the point?

True, true. Lucky for me that I will not be able to find it this year in any stores so I will be saving $1,600 US. How many Xbox, PS2, Cube, DS, GBA and PC games can I buy with that savings? I think some maths is in order, yes.

Well, since Virtua Tennis is one of my all time favorite games, I was more than a little excited to see that Sega coming out with Virtua Tennis 3 in 1080p for PS3. It looking damn good, I must say.

SONY TO DROP PRICE OF PS3 IN JAPAN

The price for the North American and European launch will stay the same.

No changes to the price of the higher end model - 60GB version - or European and US prices were announced.

SONY'S NEW new super soaraway PS3 games will cost punters a stonking $100 or £52 when the machine is finally released.
Japanese site Impress Watch, citing "multiple information sources", claims that PS3 games will be concentrated in the £39-52 range. Currently only bigger titles on the PS2 reach the £39 mark.

At the heart of the price rice was the fact that Sony has been unable turn the PS3 into an open platform in time. It has not produced a development environment, manuals, security management and community features.

This means that Sony has gone for a traditional business model where the price of the PS3 will be low, but it will make up its cash from software royalties.

As we know, the cost of the PS3 will not be that low, so the prospect of £52 games will probably make owning and running the console extremely expensive. The Xbox 360 console will be much cheaper and its games are nearly £20 less.
