Basically...if you're having issues with an 'EA game' on Windows 8, don't expect any assistance from EA self.

I like to take shots at Activision, but this is just ludicrous.

I basically had to circumvent the game's built-in DRM...a game I paid for mind you...using nefarious means, just so that I could continue playing it.

Every time you turn a corner with EA and this foolish Steam-wannabe called Origin, you somehow end up stepping in mountains of bullshit. I fedup a dem long time.

Oh how I WISH Crytek and DICE would find other publishers to reside at.

EA and Origin just full a shit.

Yeah there's a difference between " it would work" and " it's not supported". But still after two full months ea still don't officially support the os that comes preloaded on every? Failure with ea yes.

I hate origin, i bought fifa 2012 on it, and i never play it. I rel rel rel hate that thing.
I have ME3 to play still and i refuse to buy it on EA. It just sucks, all my games on steam oui.
If it not on steam i not interested.

That being said, id excuse origin this one time because of my experience recently trying to play gears of war on windows 8, here goes:

Installed up gears, pressing home key to bring up games for windows live, nothing happens.
I decided to go through my collection of "games for windows live" games . NONE WORK!
I.E. : Dirt 2, SSF4, SFxT, Bulletstrom.

None work, so i began the google hunt. Only to find out, games for windows live dont work on windows 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get rel pissed, i'm a fan of microsoft, but this one was just flicking rediculous.
How could your OWN! software not work with your OWN OS u trying to push! Stueps.
Imagine, steam who refuse to support windows 8 works like a charm, and your own games for windows live dont!!!!!!!!

Hear nah, i eventually got it to work. A forum member on steam, found that, the game called Microsoft Flight, comes with a version of "games for windows live" that's later than the one on MS main website. And using that version, u have to set it to Windows 7 Compat mode, install as admin. When done, go to program files, set gfwl.exe as Win7 Compat. Then run it, sign in at least once, and from that point on it works. The guy uploaded that version of gfwl on his skydrive, for everyone to pull.

That's d most ridiculous shit ever. I rel feel to slap whoever incharge of the gfwl team at ms. Some good bull pessle that man need.

So like arc said, just a head's up for those who aint make the plunge.

Yeah, for real... Steam wukkin fine and EA Games/GFWL ain't.

Fortunately I didn't encounter them GFWL shenanigans because I already had MS Flight installed when I migrated from Windows 7.

So all my GFWL titles worked without a hitch.

...but this info is really good to know.

I had a similar experience while reinstalling Dirt2, however the gfwl download on the Microsoft site has been updated so I was able to use that to install the game.

@ arc.....hhahah @ outsourcing job to china. It's a good thing when companies do it to save a $$, what wrong if a man does it himself?

Now if he was REALLY clever, he woulda find some way to proxy the traffic from somewhere local, (and allow the Chinese to connect there) so when they trace the IP, it woulda come back as somewhere close.

...and I guess he never heard of 'secure delete' or 'encrypted files'. How you go just have them invoice PDFs just sitting on your HDD jus so.
Even when you think you 'deleted' them...nope...you just deleted the FAT record. The file is still there, and recovery software can still retrieve it...unless you do a DoD-standard secure delete.

Still, I gotta hand it to im for his audacity.
