lol, that's actually pretty tame for his standards eh. As for the person who said afterwards that we all wear American brands etc, well...they're all made in China/Taiwan anyway.

As for Wendy's opening...my reaction is simply "meh". Don't eat beef, which cuts out a fair bit of that menu...and they'd have to come up with some interesting alternate options for me to even take a look, hopefully they won't try to season chicken etc like how americans tend to do (salt & black pepper), trini palettes are a little more complex than that.

A Scottish newspaper is reporting that controversy is being stirred between Scotland and Trinidad and Tobago by an advertisement mocking Scotsmen in kilts in a bid to lure Trinidadian drinkers from Scotch back to rum.

Giant billboards for Angostura are said to show a Scotsman in national dress performing a Highland Fling but failing to impress a curvy beauty because of his costume.

The billboards carry the slogan: "In Scotland, men dance in skirts. In Trinidad, men dance with women in skirts."

One Scottish kiltmaker told the Scotland on Sunday newspaper that the ads were a "cheap jibe."

The paper said that they had sparked an angry backlash from expatriate Scots living in Trinidad.

Now I knew that it was offensive but I had NO IDEA that it would've gone all the way back to Scotland. They've already started changing them to more Carnival themed billboards so it's kinda late but even that word didn't travel fast, it sure as hell travelled far.

I was wondering what the hell NEO was talking about until I did some diggin.

OMFG... Didn't Captain Awesome make reference to  some guy who was messed up by this woman? maybe it is him self.

For all his hurt, her better calm down and move on (or out the country) before he get a libel/slander suit or offs himself, or a friend of this woman does it for him. In any case we really doh need to hear all about it.

Anyhow on to routine WTMCs:

- a reminder that the cell phone law is official from today.

- seeing how efficient Wreckers are in woodbrook

- when so many students get the school wifi password that it cripple internet access in the school... it took all day to change the password on 8 WAPs while trying to force the DHCP server to get client to renew their IPs prematurely and deal with angry staff who couldn't get online.

As much as he did, his ego has gotten way too big, I wouldn't doubt the WINTV press releaseat all. Watching Crime Watch over the past few months he's become increasingly disrespectful to callers and his own staff and there were times I wondered if they weren't getting complaints.  I know you hadda be hard when you tackling crime but come on man show some tact while on the air.

I highly doubt this was politically motivated as Ian would have his supporters blindly believe as I find it hard to believe a struggling network would cann one of the highest rated shows on local television jes so, but like you said we might never know what really caused this.

I've known Ian since I was a child since his stepfather and my mother are cousins and in all my interaction with him back then he never really came across as genuine to me and as a result I don't always trust what he says.

I hope the show does come back as it did expose alot of crime at the grassroots level and he has done a world of good in helping people despite his personal ambitions may be.
