So this morning I registered my complaint to one Dr. Byam, the Chief of Protocol, who apparently recently assumed his post. This meeting took about an hour or so.

He was surprised at my complaint especially the fact that despite all of my written correspondence the embassy is still yet to give a reason why only half the invoice was paid. promised to investigate the matter. He commented that he wished he'd known of this matter sooner as he met Mr. Chawla the day he left, and could have queried Chawla in an 'unofficial' capacity.

I called the embassy again this morning: still no cheque...

Out of boredom I was watching the flood rise outside (yeah I real bored lol). You can't really tell what's road and what's not anymore, so it's not safe to navigate these streets unless you know it well. A while ago, a car (probably not from here) entered the scene and drove straight into a flooded drain. People in the front had to swim out yes. About half an hour later some folks came to help get it out. Now, yet ANOTHER car enters the scene and drives into the drain. Ridiculous. I'm wondering if this is going to happen all night.
