Still interested to note though...when there's an instance of "police killings"..these eyewitnesses can give so many details as to who was where, what they did, what time the officers had lunch earlier in the day (ok maybe not that much >_>...), but when an incident happens in their backyard by people from their own area, they never see anything!

Hiding and protecting criminals makes you no better than those who commit the act. As such, if this is the price they pay, then I can't say they're not deserving of such treatment.

its easy to take this moral highground when you dont live in fear of reprisal killings every day of your life. Iam not saying that hiding them is good at all.. but telling people they should die for your ideals...

But then, if they only choose to speak out against the police, then that's a serious double-standard. If that's the route they want to take, then don't call the police when a typical murder occurs in their area, and stop bawling out for police help when it only suits their purpose.

like you ignored my point entirely, they dont speak out against people in their area for fear of reprisal killing. They speak out against the police because they abuse their power and they also do not fear reprisal killings from the police.

The dynamic of human relations is a complex and difficult thing to understand. On one side I may say well discipline begins in the home, but what kind of home do these ppl provide for their children who grow up father less or parent less and are taken in by the 'rogue' elements of society, but then just as easily one can say their parents may not be home because they work multiple jobs just to put bread on the table and yet even then one may just as easily say for ppl that have it SO hard financially, how in HECK do they afford direct TV.... I am sure there are vicious cycles of degeneration occuring in these types of 'communities'.
The more well off in T&T consider them an eyesore and a threat, the feel as though there is a stigma attached and in some cases don't take it upon themselves to break the stigma or can't. I don't think that leaving an entire community in the grips of crime, poverty and drugs will ever be able to raise itself up, thus unfortunately it falls on the government and ppl to help raise them up... sadly just as easily there are the 'rogue' elements that would oppose this move so it's all this vicious cycle that makes it nigh impossible for it to change.

Thus I propose that we make me emporer and I will remove crime from our once honest and decent land... sure the population will DRASTICALLY decrease, but what others call genocide I call acceptable loss.

Well there you go, as common as it is, it's not the defining trait and thus can and should be eradicated. I honestly could care less if it decreases the population by 80% as i've stated before it's not genocide, it's call acceptable loss.
