WDMC @ a CCTV camera being vandalized already on the stretch between the airport and Trincity mall....

I have to say... in the words of a padna of mine: "there are stereotypes for a reason" .... any wonder this occured in the east so close to malabar, arima, etc?

what do you do when the watchers are being vandalized?
and the experts said well normally you place watchers,covertly, for the watchers.

IF that was done in trinidad? hmm, no official word, but highly doubtful..
and since video evidence is inadmissible in Trinidadian courts... the point of said devices would be?

because our laws and constitution have not been updated to keep up with technology.
and when constitutional reform is pushed by a certain incumbent government, a certain opposition party prevents constitutional changes and drags it along as long as possible.. in their bid to "Make the country ungovernable"...

i believe the procedure dictates that for constitutional changes, there needs to be a check and balance from opposition. So what their game is, is that they will not out right refuse the change, but no matter what the government suggest, the opposition will have a problem in which the government intends to initiate the change, thus stalling the process.

I don't think that's what he means...with Checks and Balances you need 3 branches of Gov't in order for each to check on one another. Prime Minister / President with executive power yes, but still having to answer to the Judiciary, and the Senate / House of Assemby and vice versa..

It works, as long as one does not have full control in either way...In the end the people who should have final say is John Q Public...Taxpayers / Citizens who elect those officials and if unhappy should have the basic rights to evict said elected officials from power..that is the true democratic way...BUT not how things are in Trinidad...The Public don't know what their rights are and that is so wrong on so many levels. The fact that basic citizen rights are irrelevant and uproars about change in law by the "elected" officials are not made, the crap will continue. I've said it before, its up to the people of Trinidad and Tobago to stand up for what is right and know their rights as citizens and take control of situation. Make the Gov't answer!

executive presidents have term limits.
Yes i would be for that. get panday and manning out after 2 terms
but since they have served terms in the past, i say just get them out period.

With our current system, they can remain around indefinitely.
All that executive president is a bad ting ole talk is just that, ole talk.

Obama is an executive president, but all people have done is throw praise at him like rain.

an executive president is not an emperor , and yes part of the powers of an executive president, is to make executive decisions requiring no prior approval from senate before implementing it, but its not an every day kind of thing, its a, some one flew planes into our buildings, iam dropping bombs on them , kinda decision.

But its not that there are no checks and balances, an executive president can be removed, kind of easily as well.

Again, all that emperor talk was born out of general ignorance of the public.
