WTMC AT THIS WEEK!

Monday:
Having a customer drop off his PC at work for you to re-format. Says he wants Vista Ultimate on it along with a few other programs. He was in such a hurry cuz he came in a taxi and he was on the way to the airport, so I could not get any specs on the PC. So when I powered it on, here are the specs:

1) Sempron 3200 (Skt 754)
2) 512MB RAM
3) 40GB HDD

He's out of the country for 2 months. No way to contact him and let him know, so I am going to by default, install XP for him and let him know about upgrading.

Reaching home with such a migraine headache that I had no vision in my left eye, only a white haze.

Tuesday:
Waking up to realize I bled thru my nose in my sleep. Checked the cellphone and saw about 3 missed calls from a number that set his phone to block his number. (However I can see the actually number when I call it back). Called back the number and the guy that answered sounded surprised I got his number. When it wore off, he actually warned me not to intervene with protecting a certain forum member. Took me a few hours to realize he meant the thing with a member of this forum that was being harassed. I took down his number, contacted my cellular service provider and gave them the relevant information.

Lunchtime during a basic PC repair, actually blacking out for like 15 seconds to wake up with the screwdriver in my hand and me lying on the computer itself open. Again, white haze in the left eye and pounding headache. Left work half an hour earlier and went and slept

Wednesday:
Checked a doctor, turns out I got tension headaches and that triggered migraines (I am not one to suffer from migraines regularly). When heading to work from the doc's office, got a call from an old customer. Arranged a visit after work to check her PC in Tacarigua. Went and checked out her pc and handled her.

While returning to the car I noticed three men milling around in a very suspicious manner about five paces away from it. They were there for about fifteen minutes before they gave me a little bit of space for me to safely get to the car. I silently disarmed the car alarm and dashed into the car, bounce starter and drove like a bat outta hell!

Upon arriving Trincity lights, I noticed a heavily tinted almera come right behind me. Up under my bumper so much so I could not see its lights nor its number plate. When it was green I accelerated quickly and left about a three car gap between me and the almera. I called up a friend of mine (who happened to be on the highway behind me) to meet up with me on the highway and somehow wave off the almera. Nearing Maloney traffic lights, my friend caught up with us and he used his car to block the path of the almera. Having realized he was made out, it sped off westbound (making a 180 by Maloney Traffic lights). My friend and I went to Arima, ate some doubbles and went home at 1AM in the morning

Today:
Looked back on what transpired this week and made arrangements to take vacation sometime in May.

Remember all the drama that I had with importing a car?

In summary;
May 07 - applied for loan
june 07 - car is ordered from Japan
July 07 - got loan
Aug 07-  car arrives in country
Aug 07 - pay deposit
Sep 08 - port refuses to unstuff car as there are 3 other inside, being 'unsafe' to unpack
Jan 08 - article in newspaper that say port implements new car unloading procedure complying with OSHA (it was in effect 6 months earlier!)
Jan 08 - loan period expires cause I failed to produce a car for bank
Feb 08 - car finally is removed from container
Feb 08 - get refund


Now this:
Well the broker only now license the car on 11th April. Now I have to sign documents literally begging the ministry of Trade to allow me to sell the car.
(If you acquire a personal import license and import your own car, you can't sell it before 3 years have passed.)

when ah man hdd knocks to the point that it sounding like an old car, you suggest that the hdd should be changed promptly, board has sata 1.5 so small thing to find a hdd, and i quote

- just getting a call from FedEx say I have to pay $223 for VAT and "entrance fee" charges for importing RAM.

When I quarrel about the cost, pointing out I have made scores of orders for the SAME part from the same company over and over in the last year, the usual reply: CUSTOMS
