HELL NO Sax, yuh wrong dey. Notice there was no objection to your sentiments. There was not even an attempt at dissuasion from violence (I believe N.E.O. suggested some DENTISTRY). I personally know at least 8 rape victims, 3 of whom saw the hospital after their attacks. I'm most glad that the young lady is in one piece but I tend to get REAL upset at hearing these things so I keep my 2c to myself for fear of getting over-zealous at the prospect of what I call "home-made justice".

A customer calls me to have a look at this laptop which he say is not working properly...

when I check: the bottom half of the LCD is 'blurred' (for want of a better word) not even the cursor shows properly when moved to that area.

I observed that there was sticky stuff on the bottom part of the LCD and under the keys of the keyboard.

I ask him how long he having the issue with the LCD - 2 months
I ask him if he spilled any liquid on  the laptop - yes
how long ago? - about 2 months

*curses customer in back of mind for lack of sheer common sense: spilled liquid on screen and keyboard with no cleaning ---> faulty screen!*

Judging from the amount of residue and a few questions I asked, customer was too busy to [properly] clean up the spill and actually worked with the faulty LCD after it went screwy for 2 months....

*bills customer at standard minimum rate... job took all of 10 minutes, hardly even touching the lappie*

Gonna get him a nice 19" wide LCD monitor...

EDIT: customer bought my used 19" CRT monitor forthwith...

So some guy today asked me if I had COD4. I said yes and he was like "oh me too but mine not working". Turns out he needed a crack. So I tell him

WTMC @ Getting fined $4,000.00 for eating $120.00 in doubles and trying to skip the check. A man and his brother ate 15 doubles each at $4.00 a pop and tried to run. any of you guys read that article in one of the papers a few days ago written by a NFM rep. explaining that the quantity of doubles procured from a 100LB. sack of flour and the percentage increase on the cost of said flour 'should' only equate to an increase of a few cents on the final doubles cost??

i only heard about the article, and haven't read it, so unfortunately i can't post link.

That makes alot of "cents" there Dani, they are monopolizing on the increase in the cost of flour to rape the people of their hard earned dollars. $4 is a bit much for doubles. I think if people stop paying the $4 then they have no choice but to lower the price to what it actually costs..

I not outright defending them, ah just being fair, if you had to wake up at between 2-4 every morning and get ready to ply your trade, your only source of income, ofc if you see flour increasing you gonna take that as a good reason to increase your price to make a lil more bread for your table. especially with the overall increase in food prices.

i'd say $4 is plenty, i does run ah $3.50/barrah-channa, i eh mind the extra cuz the doubles eh change.

I mean lets face it, if you have a service to sell and it becomes the biggest industry in trinidad tomorrow, wouldn't you increase the cost of your services knowing that you/your service is in high demand?

in related story, wtmc when my pops have to pass in the back of the supermarket to collect a bag of flour...like he dealing crack...(he know the proprietors of said supermarket)

If all checks and balances have been done correctly then (this is from the media don't kill me) the price to make one barra is 5c. Ok so lets add a lil more for oil and gas.

A 25c increase is more than justifiable. I for one has stopped eating doubles/kfc. I one of few but i'm making my stand until my pay (which seems to be the only thing not increasing) i can't afford gourmet doubles.

Im on a forced diet now, i can't afford to go to the respective food establishments to get food anymore TGI is celebration location, and KFC seems to get gunning for that list too.

I could only imagine the nightmare my mother faces when she goes to the grocery now....*lights a candle*

my mum makes bread., fry/rosast bake, sada at home fort us instead of buyin outside. and she has been buying the 100LB. bag of flour direct from NFM, i actually remember the 100LB. costing around $70tt!! now it's about $210!! :S

I didnt have to read that article to figure that out.Ill put it like thisThem doubles ppl OVER compensated for the raise in flour. the price raise cant be justified at all.
Another thing yesterday meh pardner who works in a arcade says coins also raise by 50cents.like they start putting flour in coins now
