Well, changing topic...


Going to a 'meeting' today with the Principal, Hod Maths  and two IT teachers with the belief that I was finally getting the chance to raise certain issues I had with the teachers.

Two month I spent complaining to principal/priest  about the issues I was having that was even affecting mentally and physically, pieces at a time due to his short attention span, even going so far to visit him at night in school a few times (he is a Catholic priest, he lives in the school, and my last sentence sounded quite bad).  Eventually he agrees and it take almost 2 months for this meeting to finally come off. This meeting finally took place today.


I took the time to prepare almost 15 pages of notes to reference.

So the meeting starts:

It teachers raise their issues with me.
I acknowledge them, I start to raise my issues as an explanation for such.

Before I am completed with the first sentence (which was about how I am show little regard by them) I am cut off by the principal/priest (I was cut off at the word "regard").
For the rest of the meeting I am prevent by the principal from making any statements while he and the teacher were given full reign to say everything they wanted to say.

At the end the principal said effectively that I am to answer to the teachers and ANY ideas I have must be passed on to them first - the very teacher who have been f***king me over the whole time I have been there.  The same ones who were negligent in the loss of my laptop.

I did not realize how deceitful a priest could be. A lil bit again he could be Pastor Stewart.

A "meeting" as defined by Fatima College:
- monologue
- an event where one party is not allowed to speak and is dictated to by the other party
- modern slavery

If I was not sure about getting the f*** out of Fatima College before, There is absolutely NO DOUBT in my mind now.

Oh well, all I have to do is to find a method that ensures that I get my gratuity and my contract is renewed (of course, to work in some other school that is NOT gov't assisted). At least the ministry itself has deemed my skills as being useful to them.

Final advice: If you plan to apply for the post of a School ICT Technician in 2012, make sure you tell the interviewers you do NOT want to go Fatima.

Fatima only wants techies who are completely subordinate to the teachers, i.e. you are most likely 'green' and lazy  skills-wise (if you have verbal suave to sway them, you have a chance). If you do not stand for shit or try to change them (even when you know you are right), you not gonna last long.

I know. The only reason I haven't gone already is the gratuity and the fact I will complete 2 of the 3 years tomorrow. One more year to go. Must find  a way to make it for one more year.

Gonna send up a complaint letter to HR by Friday. Thank god I have this thread to refer to for details on the vast majority of the incidents that occurred.

You should start recording, voice recording, proof idmc! Next time you have a 'meeting' walk in and put a voice recorder on the table one time. When they ask, (you may need to check this) tell em it's your right to record conversations that have a direct involvement in your occupation. See what they have to say or rather, you will record that too.

Well how about getting a third party involved in those meetings? Is there anyone who could sit in on those meetings that isn't biased to either side?

I doubt they would agree to a recording, and worse yet if u used stealth, they might try to get you fired for recording confidential meetings lol.

Yeah, recording without their knowledge or consent wouldn't fly well, hence I said be up front and bold face. They'll know immediately the situation. If they refuse to have an open conversation with your recorder that says alot and he can say, "subjects refuse to speak openly 'on the record' ". Before he leaves the 'meeting'
