I admire the move to supply all SEA students with laptops...but in reality they kinda put themselves in a rel predicament. This gonna bring more problems than good with respects to the media etc.

They had good intentions but I believe there are other areas in education where that money could have been better spent. Ah well if I was a SEA student I would not be complaining :p

An "inside source" sad this about  the laptops:

"Regarding the laptops for Form 1 students, I have heard from my Principal that we're responsible for the laptops for 1 year after which the students can take the laptops home. They are to be stored, maintained and monitored by us and the school staff for 1 year. I have not seen the draft policy but principals was asked to give opinions about the policy. So that means more work for us!!"

Set a reject netbooks..... 140 of them coming my way....

More laptops = more headache

Anyhow:

WTMC at driving west along the Cocorite stretch and seeing a football suddenly fly across SIX lanes of traffic (from south side to SDA hospital side). The pace it flew at I swore it was the Jabulani (It was in fact an old ball volleyed at a low angle). When I quickly glanced left and right, I saw a teenager had done the kicking. the ball ah flown over at least one car en route to this friend on the other side of the highway. The friend didn't' control ti upon receipt and had to hush after it so it wouldn't go back in to road.

At least the kicker cleared all six lanes...

I guess simply using the walkover - the steps just 10 yards away from each of them - to hand over the ball was just too much trouble...

While we still on MoE WTMCs:

WTMC at the Administrative staff at my school! My encounters with a person who started working there AFTER me:

- being spoken to like a dog to get a computer fixed: "fix it, and fix it now". Eh? I'm sorry. I am sure who in charge of a few people as Admin person, but I am not one of them. Ketch yuhself! MoE dictate who in charge of me.

- breach of protocol leading to a Ministry official asking me why a computer is not fixed with me having already explained multiple times to the secretary of the situation and it being out of my control

- being threatened over the phone cause some stupid secretary though i was intentionally cutting off her internet: "do not interfere with my internet! who don't know who you dealing with! this i not [name called]"

- well I mentioned the backstab by the OJT already. Last I heard, a friend of a friend of mine should be giving her thunder by now at her new job

- secretary consistently fails to forward any email addressed to me via the school and even deletes them without opening them (think TSTT mail uses Gmail server - what happened to the "archive" button?)

- now she gone back with the breach of protocol by asking the IT teacher to do my job. Oh well..
*forwards complaint to ICT Division and Principal*

I'm amazed that the teachers describe her as such a "nice", "efficient" worker...Maybe just to people she likes, or just to teachers. Descrimiation against the non-teaching staff, eh

thanks god all but of one of them (the only one who i even talk to) are located in their own little office such that I never have to go in there unless I absolutely have to.
