x3 just feeling hard to really get into. pace is slow.

Freelancer KICKED ASS!

my fav space sim is freespace 2. IT"S FREE NOW!!!! or you can buy original disks for about $50
http://www.freespacezone.net/

graphics have been updated a bit

I dunno what made me play this game over and over. You have a lot of leeway in which ship you use on missions after a point, your weapon loadout, completing certain objectives gives you medals, iv you're doing well, they ask you to try out for some secret missions etc. really well done, VERY easy to get into.

Freelance was great , X-wing alliance is great too , kinda old but best star wars flight game IMO.. closest thing to a star wars flight sim , very opened ended.

I have the original cd btw.... got it for 4 usd off amazon  : D , backed it up in ISO format just in case... it is kinda old....

yeah descent and it's derivative FreeSpace was good indeed.

Wing Commander 2 still has a special place in my heart as the best space sim but it is decidedly old and dated now.

Got Dark Star One but never installed it (for shame)

Will do soon though.

Let me know how it goes if you give it a shot.

best startrek space game i've tried was bridge commander - fantastic, but it was buggy as hell and crashed too often for me to keep interest.
