Big Brother Wiring tapping
« on: August 18, 2006, 09:28:25 AM »
THIS is REAL $HIT, I sorry. Taking ppl oil is mess, invading countries on the premise of terrorism, thinking you're better than everyone else, bullying other countries to help your cause and let's add to that being paranoid of your own citizens but eavesdropping on them without their consent or heck ever even knowing:
Quote
Bush’s wire and email tapping ruled illegal

Judge tells him he is not a King

By Nick Farrell: Friday 18 August 2006, 07:23

A JUDGE has told the Bush administration that its domestic wiretap programme violates American civil rights and has ordered it to stop.
US District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor said the wiretaps under a five-year-old "Terrorist Surveillance Program" violated freedom of speech, and protections against unreasonable searches.

She said that the Bush administration had flouted a constitutional check on the power of the presidency.

She added that there were no hereditary kings in America and no powers not created by the Constitution.

The National Security Agency programme was authorised by Bush after the September 11 attacks but it was only discovered last year.

It allows the government to eavesdrop on the international phone calls and e-mails of US citizens without obtaining a warrant.

Not surprisingly the US government has appealed saying that the programme is protecting people from terrorism.

More here. µ

And to think they voted to put this administration BACK in power for a 2nd term....

yeah, I could see the courts saying X and the authorities still doing Y.

I can also picture the situation being even worse in places outside of America.

even if the whole ondercover eavesdropping thin has been going on for years,

I only ask one question:

Will Mr. Bush live a 'norma'l life as an ex-president? I am sure a lot of people won't mind his head on a mantlepiece and a trophy. the kind of ISH he do in 2 terms!!

yeah, americans and yuh want to vot him in instead of Kerry??!!

"Put THAT in yuh smoke.... and PIPE it!!" ... sprangalang
God is dead.
