I am planning to buy a LCD HDTV in the US when I go back later this year. I plan to get component cables for my Xbox, PS2 and Cube, connect all 3 to my home theater receiver and then to the TV. I don't want to buy a TV from someone, I am just looking for advice on which models are good. These are the features that I would like to have:
At least 20 inches
16:9 widescreen
HDMI connection (for DVD up-converting)
1, preferably 2, component video connections (will use home theater receiver for component switching)
Composite connection (for old consoles)
480p, 720p, 1080i
HD-ready (not necessary to have a HD tuner because most cable and satellite have tuners)
That is basically all the features. I have seen models from Sharp, Samsung and Olevia that have these features. I would like to know if anyone has one that they can recommend from personal use. Also, if you know someone who swears by a certain model, please let me know. I would not like to buy a certain model and have it conk out within a couple years. I am sure that others would be interested in this information as well.
