New/Old sitcoms that you liked....or still like
« on: August 17, 2006, 09:20:24 AM »
Now at certain points in your life, you may sit you lazy @$$ on the couch, crack open a soft drink, grab some chips and immense yourself in some serious T.V. watching.

What is your favorite TV-sitcoms? It could include comedies, dramas, sci-fi, action, etc.

My favorite sitcom of all time is "24". This show premiered in 2001 (Ironically before the terrorist attack on the States) and basically each season spans 24 episodes, each episode taking place within one hour of real time....or something like that. Some serious $#it. The story follows a federal agent as he tries to stop some major calamity from happening within one day...however he has obstacles thrown at him, people that he trusts either die or turn up as traitors...there are also sub stories thrown into mix. Long story short...the show is ingenious....Probably one of the most innovative and most clever sitcoms of all time.

Other cool sitcoms which I like(d):
The Simpsons
The X-Files
Time Trax
Seaquest DSV
Baywatch (when Pamela Anderson Lee was in her prime)
The Outer Limits
King of the Hill
The Man Show
Titus (a cool comedy that used to show on Fox...too bad it got cancelled)
NYPD Blue
and CSI (all of them)

Sit-com = situational comedy....
so you really mean TV series...
All of the ones you metion were cool shows...except, I never really got into king of the hill...Others that come to mind...
Sourth Park
Beavis and Butthead
Martin
Man from Atlantis (though I'm pretty sure hardly anybody remembers that one)
Greatest American SuperHero (another oldie)
and the millions of cartoons that went by the way (BlackStarr, Thundarr the Barbarian, Hong Kong Phooey, Space Ghost (not the crappy version that's on CN now), and the old Dungeons and Dragons.
I'd believe u if you were right.

Dark Angel - Jessica Alba kicking @$$ and looking hott, nuff said. The show's run was too short, though.

Knight Rider - A trini favorite. My cousin was just watchin Cribs the other day with some guy who was showing off his KITT replica.

MacGyver - A paper clip, piece of thread, pack of chips makes ... what? I am sure he could tell you and probably blow you up with it too.

Perfect Strangers - Balki Bartokomous was the funniest character back in the day.

Animaniacs - Probably the best funny cartoon ever made.

X-men - Dead on voices and characterizations lifted straight from the comics. The storylines were excellent also.

Spider-Man - Following in the footsteps of X-Men. Really well done with some storylines going for 20+ episodes if I remember correctly.

Batman: The Animated Series - That theme music was the best. The series was arguably better than the movies.

Mr. Bean - Try watching an episode without laughing. It will not work.

Lois and Clark - Teri Hatcher was and still is the best Lois Lane for my money.

Seinfeld - Probably the craziest, funniest show ever put on TV. It was always amazing how seemingly unrelated things at the beginning of an episode could collide by the end of one.

Mad About You - I was really mad for Helen Hunt when this show was on. She was like the Meg Ryan of TV ... cute for days.

Gargoyles - Who knew Disney could put out a cartoon series of this quality? The guy who played Goliath had the best voice ... you really felt like he existed.

Inside the NFL - I would say the best sports-related show on TV. One solid hour every week on the NFL on HBO. Not such a big draw here in T&T but in the US, it is big.

NFL Primetime - I used to watch this show before CCTT decided to take off ESPN from the lineup - bad move. Chris Berman does the most entertaining highlights I have seen.

Judgment Day - I don't think this is on G4 any more (at least I have not seen it for a while). Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico review games and usually they have very different opinions. Vic is a more open type of gamer whereas Tommy likes more action and less strategy.

X-Play - Morgan Webb. Well, aside from her, the show does at least let you know what games are total crap. Adam Sessler, as far as I can tell, is a real gamer and will play anything.

NBA Action - This used to be a weekly ritual during basketball season just for the top ten plays of the week. It seems harder to find when it is on in recent years, though.

Filter - The old version of Filter with Diane Mizota. It actually was a pretty good show with top ten lists about different game-related categories unlike how it is now.

Cinematech - Sometimes it is cool just to watch a half hour of game trailers. If you feel like that, you should watch this show. Every now and then, they will have a speed run through a game and show it in a corner of the screen.

Icons - Again, the old Icons (called Game Makers now) that focused on games and game creators. Always informative and interesting.

Smallville
Heist (was going sweet until it was cancelled after the fourth episode)
Lost
Prison Break
All CSI
The Simpsons
Veronica Mars
Kidnapped (saw the pilot...looks like it gonna be good)

I think that i should point out that"sitcom" is short for "situation comedy". referring to those half hour shows in which you hear an audience laughing...shows like everybody loves raymond and still standing...

Yes, but the point about sitcoms being 1/2 hour long comedy shows was not made.
