Since I got my 360, I have been playing that almost non-stop. It helps that my aunt got a 32" LCD HDTV and it is in my room for the while.

Perfect Dark Zero - One of the first 2 games I got with the system. I played maybe halfway through the single player and a good bit of multiplayer (with bots). Both are equally good. The single player missions are mostly kill or be killed but enjoyable all the same. The multiplayer variations are interesting and the bots are damn good at default levels. Capture the flag is really intense and the congestion on some maps make it quite a challenge to get the flag. A unique mode is called Infection. You start out with 4 infected people (they look like skeletons) and the rest are normal. If an infected person kills a normal person, that person gets infected also. The object is to stay un-infected if you are normal or to infect all the normal people if you are infected.

Project Gotham Racing 3 - The other game I got with the system. Some of the best graphics in any racer ever. I especially like their motto: If it is slower than 170, why bother? So every car in this game hits at least 170 stock. Needless to say, this is my kind of game seeing that exotics are my favorite type of cars. The cockpit view in this game is amazing and brings me back to Need for Speed 1 and 2. You can even use the right stick to look at your mirrors. The music stations are quite varied and should have something for everyone from rap and rock to classical and bhangra. As a pure racing game, this is as good as it gets.

Gears of War - A Christmas gift. Ever since the original Quake vs. Unreal days, I have always thought that Epic had the upper hand. The graphics in Unreal were mind blowing back then (if you had the hardware) and combined with dynamic music and excellent AI, it just made for a better game. All of that continued to improve with the UT series and is here with GoW. Watching this game in motion reminds me of that Killzone trailer. You know the one. This, however, is actual gameplay. It literally is something to behold. The action is really intense and the cover system is very well thought out. If you have not seen or tried this game, find someone who has it and try it. You will be impressed. There is a reason this game sold over 2 million copies.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - A Christmas gift. What can I say? This is another game you have to see in motion to appreciate fully. It is hard to believe the graphics are as good as they are without seeing it for yourself. The game is impressive in many aspects. I have only scratched the surface but the amount of detail in this game is staggering. From the voice overs given by every character (of which there are many) to the decorations in various stores, everything is well done. You can play the game the way you want and your character levels up accordingly. So if you spend all your time mixing potions, your intelligence increases. If you fight a lot, your strength increases. I am maybe 1% finished but I can already tell that this is going to be a masterpiece.

Need for Speed Most Wanted - A little after-Christmas gift from myself. I am one of the few people who did not play this game before. I am glad that I did not buy it for Xbox or PS2 because the graphics in this game are drool worthy. Everyone who has not seen the 360 version on a HDTV are missing out. I absolutely love that the cops are back and it adds so much to the game. I don't see how they can improve much on this one because they took the best of the Underground series and mixed in some Hot Pursuit. Maybe a few more exotics would help.

Rockstar Presents Table Tennis - Another after-Christmas gift from myself. I am very impressed with this game. There is something so satisfying about beating someone even if it is just a computer opponent. The controls are as good as they can be and the graphics are very well done. I really like when you get into a 10 or more hit rally and the music starts to come in. It adds some adrenaline and makes it more exciting.

Viv,

I've played all the games that you just gave a brief review of, and you are talking to people who do not have 360's and will never know what the 360 is capable of until they see it for themselves. So I think it's pointless even posting here anymore. That's why I have stopped posting here since I was called a Xbox Fan Boy by the Wii fan boys. But I agree with all of your opinions of your games, as I also have those games and enjoy them greatly. The only game i don't play that much is Oblivion sad to say, but that's because of the time it takes to invest in making any progress, ask W1nTry, he is still playing that game trying to unlock all of the achievements. But Gears of War deserves the Game of the Year as you can see for yourself. Epic did an amazing job on that masterpiece. Until these GATTers get to play or see for themselves, they will always be skeptical and call us gamers, Xbox Fanboys. They do not know what they are missing. Good review. P.S. Fight night Round 3 is a must have, especially if you play on an HDTV. I have about 14 - 15 360 titles now and will continue to pick up the good ones that keep on coming.

Well, I am the furthest away from a fanboy as can be. If anything, I could be accused of being a Nintendo fanboy since I really want to get a Wii. I will probably get one later this year when the supply is steady and more games are released. I am an equal opportunity gamer with a Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, DS and now Xbox 360. The Wii is next on my list and maybe a lot later down the road a PS3 (after some price drops). I do think the 360 is a fantastic machine and I aimed for that one due to the Wii shortages. It was not a bad decision and is especially good with the HDTV. PS3 will have to come real good to surpass the headway the 360 has made especially with online gaming.

It still is about gameplay ;)

It just requires reading reviews before splurging. Love a bunch of pretty games because the gameplay was awesome. And NOTHING gets an old school gamer all jittery inside than seeing a remake of a loved classic done beautifully, and RIGHT.

I finished Gears of War on normal today. General RAAM is an @$$. How a man could take about 20 shots with a sniper rifle? So, I contemplating playing it on hardcore. It is not often that a game can grab me to make me want to play it through more than once. I think it is the achievement points I am thinking about more. The game really is something else. Again, and I know I am repeating myself, anyone who has not seen this game in motion really should check it out. The last act has some truly amazing outdoor graphics. Epic has outdone itself again.

Viv, it's a shame your connection not working, I would help you finish it on Insane like i did with W1nTry. I could play the whole campaign from the beginning again and again. The replay value of the game is great. Once you finish it on Insane you unlock the ahievements for harcore as well, so it's worth it in the time invested on Insane. But if you get a good connection, try Multiplayer on live, people are getting insanely good on Live. Epic has indeed outdone itself. As W1nTry put it, the Unreal3 engine should be spectacular on PC with UT2007. Looking forward to more from Epic. BTW RAAM on Insane kills Dom real quick so watch yourself. LOL.  ^_^
