Lose the background graphic please

My office machine ain't the fastest thing around, PIII 933MHz, especially in the gfx card department, ATI Rage 128 Pro 16MB card, so the background graphic has the pages scrolling very choppy and stuff...any chance we can lose it or perhpas make it smaller? Would really appreciate it.

read the noob section, there is supposed to be a way to switch to a more text based page, so it scrolls faster.

my machine doesnt even have a grafix card(crappy intel onboard grafix chip though)

and pages are perfect for me

but of course...
thas cause i have gigabit ethernet

Oh and btw, the speed of your connection has nothing to do with the choppy scrolling...it's solely a gfx card issue.

Found it, switched to the PNTheme and it's helped a bit, much less gfx etc...but I still detect a slight choppiness in the scrolling...but I'll live for now.

my machine in trinidad*god rest its soul* *it was stolen last week*

is more powerful than the machine i have up here in america, including a grafix card, but with my crappy arse tstt connection, page loading and scrolling time sucked.

but gigbit ethernet tends to cure all that ails.

Found the Maximize button Helped tremendously...nice fluent scroll now

I've got DSL here in the office so page loading is the least of my worries...the gfx card just catches it's arse to keep up with refreshing the screen while I'm scrolling...so yet again, I'll reaffirm, it's got nothing to do with your connection. I know, because I get the same problem on another board with a huge background image...also get the problem on another board where there aren't huge background images but instead, members have massive animated sigs etc...but fortunately I'm a Super Mod there so I just remove their sig and let them know about it

Ent!! Is real pressah I under here boy...but d ting is, every machine we get, either is onboard gfx or some piece o crap gfx card dat come wit dem...but I eyein a machine in here dat I suspec hav a lil more horsepower under the hood...a new Dell dat jes come in...I might make a lil sniper...wish me luck!
