It says that the software "incorporates technology that enables in-game advertising, and the display of other similar in-game objects, which are uploaded temporarily to your personal computer or game console and replaced during online game play".While there are some who might be ok with seeing the occasional Coke or Nestle advert in the background, the other part of the licence goes on to say something a bit more controversial.It says that Massive may collect your IP address and other basic anonymous information, and will use this information for the general purposes of transmitting and measuring in-game advertising.It claims that Massive does not store or use any of this information for the purpose of discovering your personal identity, although it could do this.The sort of data it is interested in is your IP address, operating system, application software and peripheral hardware. This could be gathered " periodically" so that software updates, dynamically served content, product support and other services to you, including online play.It also opens another backdoor into your computer.
