Yuh know what I found interesting? from reading through about 4 different reviews, not all the benchies line up that well. eg. on Techreport, the memory peroformance of the FX is damn impressive, but at hexus it was lackluster. It's also interesting that the FX-62 though defeated in 90% of the benchmarks, is not TOO far behind eg. 30fps in Oblivion I think, whereas Hexus' benchies show much LARGER gaps, like 50FPS in games like Q4... whats really the scene? Then there are benchies that show the old P4EE besting the FX62... thing is this always happens in most reviews... you'd expect similar results since the platforms are similar... but such is NOT the case. Well we all look forward to what is it.... July 24th when Conroe will be actually available for purchase.

eeeh wintry... comparing oblivion to quake 4 is like saying a truck could haul 2 tons of lead in the same time it takes to move a bag of cement , oblivion is extremely bottlenecked due to the graphics... they include it because its optimized to use lots of threads....
The P4ee DID used to beat AMD in one or two synthetic benchmarks ,esp where the program used an intel compiler or 4 threads... Different sites will get different results , they use their own private timedemos and game settings, the only standard benchmark between them is 3dmark/PCmark..
Check this xbit review, the cheapest conroe , E6300 , has no trouble overclocking 50% on STOCK voltage and with AIR cooling..
http://xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core2duo-e6300.html
That means a prime mc like me can buy one and RAPE anything AMD has for 184 USD ...

Yuh know TrinitheTURNCOATMC if yuh take the time to read you'd understand what it was I was asking. Let me break it down into V-E-R-Y S-I-M-P-L-E language for you: I found it UN-USUAL that 2 different sites benchmarking the same CPU using the same GAME would have such DIFFERENT scores, to such an EXTENT that it was VERY noticeable. I merely used Oblivion and Q4 as references. I could have equally taken SiSoftware Sandra scores to show my point. But regardless I have figured out the culprit. The mobo and gpu used are different. In fact Hexus used an ATI REFERENCE motherboard (not a finished product) which in itself can skew the results. Let me ATTEMPT to make it easier for you to SEE:
The first image is from Hexus and the second is TechReport. In the Hexus benchmark the Conroe leads by 38% whilst techreport is 20-32%. A 6% difference may not seem like much, but a 12% difference? Let's see the culprit:
Again Hexus first then techreport. Hexus has a mix of HDs and uses a ref ATI mobo for the AM2, techreport uses all the same components save the motherboard and processor. Which would you give more credibility to? Lemme HELP you with that decision since you have become like Crixx (blinded by fanboyism). Techreport is using AVG results, with as close to identical specs as possible, with finished products and have a more detailed overall review. If you read through the TechReport review you'll see there are nice wins and even though there is a lead, in some cases it is not as LARGE as Hexus makes it out to appear (comparing top guns here FX62 to X6800). n00b

Intersting from the cpuz trini showed, they changed the core name to allendale on release?hmm conroe was so much cooler
. Like how bad yonah sounds.
Anyways. yes the varied reports and the mixed hard ware is kinda dissapointing.
I havent gone thru de articles but i am interested in the benchies on conroes that have been clocked on air, especially the mid range ones.. although i want a 4mb conroe badly, iam not sure how de bank lookin for that.
id also like to see some benchies with air cooled yonahs pit against the conroes and the am2 and fx chips. yonah is still a beast, even though its not em64.

The figures look very impressive indeed.
wow!
This should cause a serious shake down in CPU pricing at the mid range. Once they become ubiquitous.
Guess this means the end of the line for netburst.
