AT US$400.00??

Tempting, but a US$250 8800GT + US$50 Crysis works out a lot better pricewise, even if this particular GTS beats the average GT hands down.
God is dead.

TweakTown Review...

Hmmm nice performing card....@400 though? I think Sax said it best...A 8800gt + some overclocking + Crysis = best value for money.

Well lookee here.  The 256 MB 8800 GT models finally show themselves...and at a nice price too.

Shouldn't cost more than $250 US in total (including freight/Customs) to get it in hand in TnT.
This card makes a lot of sense if you're not gaming at resolutions at or above 1600 x 1200.

Who say it?  :happy0203:

Plenty sense is joke. This card is sure to wtfpwn in any game other than Crysis, and even there it should hold its own nicely.

Remember that 90 US equates to more than FIVE HUNDRED dollars TT eh (almost six hundred).  As I said, its worth it if
you want to game at lower resolutions (e.g. 1280 x 1024) with all settings maxed out, with 2X or 4X AA on.

Also remember that you need a suitably large LCD to display those higher resolutions, so you have to consider
the native resolution of your monitor/LCD when buying this card.

I'd say its worth it, if money is really tight and you want to spring for the faster CPU, but as far as I remember from the reviews, the 512 model was considerably faster.

the 512 is considerably faster and would be considered a future proofing buy

at the speeds cpus at, is almost a null issue
games have been more gpu bound for a while
so even if yu not playing on higher resolutions NOW
you could be later
or when the nex gen rolls around, you wont be completely inadequate

I really think amazon has some of the once in a lifetime deals cause if you bookmark that page and monitor the price it will most likely change every week. But man I really need to get a job and utilize

TTdirectbuy and get some serious goodies.

Just seeing that makes me want to sprang something....
