Crytek cries foul.

"It'z der piratez" they say are largely to blame for the game's dismal sales performance.

Uhhh...nope.  Its the ridiculous system requirements that are responsible for that.  I'm sure a lot of people
downloaded it 'just to see' if their PCs would run it.

Yeah but it seems that console games are more profitable for developers these days, there won't be many pc exclusives in the coming months mostly ports from consoles.

Crysis Warhead to be Better Optimized
« Reply #246 on: June 21, 2008, 05:47:58 PM »
Quote
Crytek President Cevat Yerli said Crysis Warhead, the recently announced Crysis installment, will be optimized for lower-end PCs. Yerli told German publication PCGames.de to expect Warhead to run any where from 30-35 frames per second at high settings on a $620 rig. (Translation courtesy of Voodoo Extreme)

When the original Crysis released in late 2007, it raised the bar for graphics. However, since the graphics were so impressive, the system requirements intimidated many PC owners who didn't have killer gaming rigs. The German developer is attempting to alleviate that fear to reach a wider install base.

While Yerli said Warhead's optimizations were possible to implement in the original Crysis, it would take a lot of time and resources away from Warhead, which is the company's main priority at the moment.

IMO:

Far Cry >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Crysis

Far Cry:
Awesome Soundtrack - the fight tunes in Far Cry are the best and I didn't care that some levels used the same tracks
Awesome Enemies - The mercs throwing those cheesy lines at you made the fights so much better. Plus there were a whole variety of mercs. And trigens! Unlike a lot of folks, I loved em.
Light Hearted - The game never took itself seriously.
Replayability - To this day this game is awesome. I'm actually playing it right now while Mass Effect downloads.

Crysis:
Boring.  Although it's an okay game (certainly nice to look at), I had to force myself to finish it. Those damn Koreans were no fun at all :(  And the boring music ughhh

Woah...look at all th e Crysis haters juct crawling out of the woodwork.

Yeah, Crysis wasn't all it was cracked up to be, but to say it was booring, you should find Farcry equally as booring because it was te same gameplay over and over as well.

Though not executed as well as it could have been, the whole premise of the game was intreguing, the whole "aliens trapped for millions? of years in the mc mountain...

far cry and crysis... basically note the word basically were practically the same game...

on island, mysterious shizz going on, run through pretty bush, kill..

far cry i could say wasn't boring just because at the time of release it offered something that was rare in gaming, top notch graphics and top notch AI..

Crysis on the other hand, offered something just like far cry, top notch graphics and well, i won't swear on it, top notch AI..lol.. but the game play on the other hand failed to impress, not saying that it was horrible. Yes it had nice little features in the gameplay wrt the nano suit but that was it mainly, even in the intro video, u can see they are stressing on the nano suit. Outside of the nano suit, there was the killing of koreans, hundreds and hundreds of mindless koreans, fun at first, but afterwards u thinking u playing a high definition version of Serious Sam Vietnam Edition.

Enough blah blah yadda yadda shizz talk.. final say about crysis, graphics > gameplay, and i hope the new one Warhead adds something new to the table.

Far Cry was BORING!
And the story/plot was STUPID.

Monkey men??
I didn't even bother playing it out...

Well I guess that maybe due to playing CRYSIS before FAR CRY..
I guess if you guys played Crysis first...

You'd like it much more than Far Cry..

^lol...

Well you understand my point of view though right?
Playing Crysis first sort of set a bar regarding that style of gameplay...so going back to try FAR CRY the classic game was sort of a let down...
