What i see?LOL
I see live gameplay of this game at E3

Well perhaps that google video is an updated demo cause I distinctly saw trees being destroyed at multiple points not just 1 way. Did you look at the google link I put up shiv?

Must have been i guess. The version they had running at E3 had some pretty poor framerates and they werent letting you play it. The developers did, meaning it was a playable build not a real demo. Could be so. But for a beta release....wow indeed.

Just a lil tidbit of info about the kinda hardware needed to run Crysis properly.

According to Crytek, the absolute BEST performance can only be achieved using DX10 hardware.

WAYS MEN REAL EATING UP DE MS BS... ms betta be funding dese bi@tches. DX10 parts ain't even out yet, cause up to last I checked the DX10 spec not finalized even, and I done hear talks about DX10.1. GEez talk about trying to sucker ppl into upgrading their PCs... cheap shot by crytek imho. Ah well wha yuh go do.. I guess most of us wont be playing crysis 'the way it's mean to be played' depending on the features supported in DX10 that are not on DX9 parts...

Quote
What's interesting is that Yerli told us that if you have Windows Vista and an older DirectX 9 card, you should still see better performance with Windows Vista than Windows XP, even if the hardware remains unchanged. "DirectX 9 on Vista will run faster throughout due to the better device driver model...which is a great thing because just upgrading the operating system on the same rig, you get a better gaming experience," he said.

Dread I JES take this excerpt from the article (after I originally posted). Dread does this sound like a plug for Vista or wha? FCUK dat dread. We ALL know vista is NOT going to run faster on the same hardware we have now. This man REAL BSing the public.... sounds more like a PR person than a engineer.

And you know what?  PLENTY men will eat tha chainup from Crytek and spend a lot of unnecessary money to play this game.

and Trini, why buy a DX10 card unless you're upgrading to Windows Vista?

Be that as it may kaizen, YOU of all ppl can appreciate that SOME games are just NOT the same if not with ALL the bells and whistles. Eg. Oblivion, Crysis. Dread even Doom3 when it first came out, although it ran on meh machine comforatbly on meh 9800Pro there was just something missing till I got meh X800XT. Low settings in a game like Crysis would also be like cheating (provided low settings means the physics dont work as well and men cayh hide in teh bush" A good eg of this is playing COD2 on DX7 vs DX9. Froggo and them can attest when playing unknown that they hiding thinking yeah yuh cyah see meh, only to get shot as if yuh in plain site. Crysis although we don't know what is 'low' settings is a game that will need medium at least for a fair playing field. It just wouldn't cut it if yuh playing on HIGH and think yuh camoflage and a man on low settingfs seeing you clear as day.

^^^ So very true.  I play through half of Far Cry with a GeForce 5700LE, and thought I was seein niceness, and then when I got my 1st 6600GT I was like 'WHADEMUDDA@#$%!!!'.  Had was to play over some levels yes.  Especially the outdoor ones.
I sure I nearly shed a tear when I see exactly what I was missing, as that card actually allowed gameplay on med/high settings.

Oh my word....after reading that I agree with Arcman there....

If I only hear of a release date... at any cost i switching to socket AM2.....or LGA775 (dammit! still can't decide which!)

or even (being a cheap bastard) just buying a GeForce 7600GS AGP

Have you been living under a rock in a heavily forested area down in Grande for the last 3 months? The choice between AM2 and lga 775/core 2 setup is clear, man. I mean come on.

*in muted, zombie-like voice* yes 'Crixx', conroe owns..

I CAN afford to buy conroe and and E6400 at least

But this time, pending me finding the right conroe board with the right features/design at the right price, I will go conroe. I trying not to spend more than US$150 on a 'higher-end' Intel P965 chipset board. If I fail to find such, I go for the Asus M2N-E Deluxe on the AM2 platform. I just that finicky.

but the fact remains whichever way I go, Crysis will make all of us forget about reality....

well the man has a point.

either a top am2 or a top dual core platform will do the job, cpu wise.

no denying that.

The real battle here will be GPU. Definitely want the best video card you can get your grubby hands on for this game.

Eye candy at it's finest hour.
