ah, ye classic 'Pringles Tin" wireless antennae...

Good for a point to point wireless b/g link/bridge between two houses... just don't try it in in the states, the FCC WILL find you.

dirt cheap compared to the $400 and much higher wireless g antennaes out there

i have tried this very same thing using a piece of Aluminum sheeting, and it worked WONDERS.  The downside is, its highly directional, so signal reception behind the parabola is greatly reduced.

Well umm the point of a parabolic reflector is concentration of the signal... i.e. directional... so it would reduced the omnidirectional scatter???
