VC Help
« on: May 31, 2006, 10:46:00 AM »
I see ah man post sum like this already but i in need of more in depth help...
I don't do much PC gaming any more (too cheap ^_^) but my old Gigabyte Radeon went bad...have to run all apps even non-3D apps in 4X or it locks up the system.

I want to know what is the best Brand and chipset of card that i can get for <= TT$600.
Yes, thats right, <=TT$600.
Laugh allyuh know allyuh want too...

But i seriously in need of help, i use alot of programs (as i realized today) that rely on the PROPER workings of my card (autocad can't even render properly and have a million artifacts)

I really don't want any ATI cards again, but if i have no choice i'll buy it.
And looking for something with alot of RAM.

the most demanding games i might run is unreal 2004,Halo mostly multiplayer nuh and some RTS (WIII,AOM).

I was thinking bout the following cards:

GF XFX 6200 256MB 8X AGP (S/Vid)   565.00
GF XFX FX5200 256MB 8X AGP (S/Vid)   465.00
Sapphire ATI R9550 256MB DDR 8X AGP   565.00

What akllyuh think?

HELP! PLEASE!

Your best choice there is the 6200 hands down.

You might want to go on newegg and spring for a 6600le though. Not a whole lot more performance, but more nonetheless.

GF XFX 6200 256MB 8X AGP (S/Vid)   565.00 - cool scene

thanks for the input, but i have to buy that down here, i need it ASAP.

heres the final question,i want to know what is a good Brand, something that don't come pre-overclocked and something that could last long and take a beating, something real durable.

EVGA   Asus and BFG are top of the line brands... XFX is in the middle of the road , Chaintech and thing i'd stay away from ....
Pre overclocked is a GOOD thing..  pre oc cards usually come with lifetime warranty , and they only give trouble in high end models that already operating at the limits + bad cooling ... doubt you can find a pre oc 6200 anyway...

even withina brand you'd have variety.

EVGA, XFX, BFG are considered top brands, though you'll be fine with msi, leadtek etc.

ASUS is a funny one - they do weird crap. e.g. Their 6800 series gamer edition cards were hybrids - 6800 vanilla core with 6800 board/memory. 6800 ultra core, with 6800 vanilla board and memory. and their ugliest card - a 6800 with 512 MB memory, but a 128bit interface.
:P random text doesn't go out of date does it?

yeah, 6200 is your best bet there.

Double yeah @ 6600 GT pricing.

Not dropping as fast as they should, especially considering that the 7600 GS is here and goes for less on the PCI-E side.
