  Half Life 2 episode 1 starts preloading today.. anyone planning to buy it start your downloads , so on the day of ''release'' it will be mostly done...
  you preload stuff that won't change eg. Textures, models , skins  , audio , while the programers work on the stuff that will change ie. the code ..

sad isnt it. when a game thats a cult classic is pimped out. *sigh* as you guess aftermath was shelved cause why sell one game when you can split it into 3 and make 3x the money.

EP1 takes place rigt when the citidel exploded with you and alex escaping. the purpose of this expansion is to give you more back ground into the mysterious combine (which you spend more much on HL2 killing ). there is no word about the role MR M will play in this series or whether we will finnaly find out who he reall is. it sucks though cause aftermath was originally plan to start with alex playable searching for Freeman who as the ending shows was warped during the citidel explosion.

oh well i guess Value are going milk their cow. hope its just as good, a sucky HL game is unaceptable

This is a continuation of Half Life 2. Valve decided to give us brief episodes now instead of making us wait for years for a full game. It going good so far. Anyone else playing it?

I was debating whether to play it or not cos I never actually finished HL2...it was one of the games I was playing prior to leaving TT, but never picked it back up when I landed in Canada...but I said screw it and installed it this morning cos I been reading good reviews about it all weekend...couldn't hold out any longer.

Hell, I might even pick back up HL2 when I'm done with Ep1...only thing is my save files are in TT *sigh*

Hmmm hl2 was pretty good....ending wasnt though. I think its better if you complete hl2 before starting episode one, but you already did so small ting.

Hmmm...maybe I can stop where I am in Ep1 and pickup HL2...if I could just get my savegames somehow...

Patience has never been one of my virtues when it comes to new games...if I've got it...I gotta play it
