Lighting seems to be pretty decent, not quite HDR, but nice all the same. The graphics overall are of a good quality.

Runs silky smooth on my machine, 1600x1200, soft shadows, 4xAF, 2xAA, everything else on high. I'll probably give it a go with higher AA/AF and see how it runs.

Rag doll physics are in effect, but not quite as ridiculous looking as previous Hitman games...

I can't recall much of the last Hitman game, Contracts I think it was, mostly because I didn't find it very enjoyable...and so never got very far in it.

Second to last screenshot shows an open container...which I'll be stashing that body in...the animation for throwing the body in is very nicely done, as are many of the animations that I've come across thus far.

Last screenshot ... a chemist with a hammer...deadly combination :P

How is this latest edition gp in terms of gameplay? I never really finished any of the hitman games cuz i always found them to become quite booring and repetitive after a while.

Similar story here Daaak...except for maybe the first Hitman, that one I did play to the end...I'll reserve judgement on the gameplay for a lil while longer so as to get a good feel for it.

I finished all of them.

The last one was basically a remake of part one. it was all the same missions with updated graphics. Storywise... I don't think it really had a story.

in terms of the game being repetative i don't know if you were trying to just run and gun like a typical shooter but hitman is not, by any longshot, a repetative game.

All objectives can be accomplished in a multiple of ways and you are actually rewarded for killing only the target quickly and easily without making a scene. you actually get bonus points if you only fire one bullet for the stage.

if the silent but deadly approach doesn't work then you can run and gun if you so wish but the game offers so many options that I can't possibly see how anybody could call the game repetative.

Anyway, i am looking foward to playing and completing this one too.

Ok, I've completed the first 2 missions...and I'd have to say it's decent...a lil frustrating at times like when some punk arse guard walks in on you at an inopportune time...but I've learnt to keep an eye on them via the map now, so that's less of an issue. Still means a bit of reloading saved games now and then when things don't quite go as you planned them...but enjoyable nonetheless.

Weapons seem to have tons of upgrades, which you must buy with money earned from missions etc. The ones that were available to me were a silencer for the silverballer hand gun, stocks for the end of the shotgun and sub-machine gun to reduce recoil and increase accuracy, different types of ammo for "quieter" shots etc. I could see these comin in quite handy later on, cos right now, the recoil on some of the guns is pretty nasty, so expect to hit the walls a couple times with the automatic weapons. Each upgrade thus far costs $50000. They started me off with $273000, so there was plenty to go round.

Once in the mission, you can purchase intel, starting at $3000, which gives you hints on the stage. But you don't necessarily need to follow through on them.

Completing the second mission earned me $400000, less $5000 to clean up each of the little messes I left behind, like my custom weapons that I brought into the stage, my suit which I switched for a guard's suit, and a couple bodies I left in corners instead of in containers...think they docked me $15000 in all. I had to kill like 5 guys, the 2 targets plus 3 guards, but I still came out with a "Stalker" rating.

Hitman fans and any aspiring assassins should definitely give this one a go.

i have it at home and will install it later in the week when exams doen.

anyone have any tips on how to use a software called Daemon tools? send me some info via Pm please.

Beware that the new 4.0x version of daemon tools bundles spyware. cancel the install when it prompts you to install the new toolbar. You should be able to use it then without the crap.

If you are on 3.x, note the device id it assigns the drive is a constant. Some new copy protection actually looks at that string because they never changed it, It was a constant. changing it to anything would let you use 3.x with those cd's

If you want to make iso's of cd's then try using the iso maker power toy.

I use this to make iso's of most my game cd's which pretty much speeds up irritating installs like half life2 :P
