Sorry guys, i thought X-men 3 was the biggest dissapointment this year thus far. everything in this movie was wrong to me. yes there were a few good action scenes but the lack of plot development and character  development hurt the movie bad. There are so many good actors in this movie that just didn't get a chance to act!!!

in my opinion X-men:- The Last Stand is FUBAR! (effed up beyond recognition)

Most likely, a movie on its own. According to initial reports, the movie is going to focus on Wolverine way before he became an X-Man. In that regard, I hope Sabretooth comes back. 1 line of dialouge in the first movie between the two does not an intense rivalry make.

i tired of ppl using that argument to justify the atrocities that made x-men 3 a disaster. of course they cannot cram 15 years of story into a 2 hour movie. I don't know if you realize it but thats exactly what they tried to do and they failed. they writters of x-men 3 failed to realize that the x-men movies is now a FRANCHISE. as many of the members here on GATT have been discussing, there is more than likely a possibility of more x-men movies and/or spinoffs. as to why they decided to make the third x-men movie so final was very foolish.

X-men fans on this forum can all agree that the dark phoenix saga has to be one major story arcs in X-men history. Whether or not the writters of the movie chose to use the actual story that took place in the comic or decided  to slightly change details to fit the movie is not the issue. The real issue is that the dark phoenix character was over shadowed by stupidity of magneto's foolish plans.

(krist now i'm can't stop...) it seemed to me that x-men 3 had a total disregard for what happened in the first 2 movies. characters that were defined and solidified in X1 and X2, all of a sudden changed, without any hint of it.  Xavier, the mutant that stands for everything right and moral all of a sudden throws morality out the door inspite of fear? Jean grey who in the first 2 movies showed no sign of a split personality all of a sudden has one. and you accept it because "they weren't able to fit 15 years of story into a 2 hour movie"? That was never an issue in the first 2 movies. they were still able have proper character and plot development will still being true to the comics and just putting a new fresh spin on the "X-men" title.

to me, the more i discuss this with more ppl it seems that people are settling for medicor writting but great special effects and action scenes. I'm not going to lie, the actions scenes where pretty decent, but without good writting and story to back it up, in my opinion it was just shallow (just like a video game with great graphics and no game play). If you liked the movie cuz the action was great then fine kudos i totally understand that. but to say that they had to fit a lot of story into 2 hours is stupid. in the first two they went slow, took their time and gently carresed the story of x-men until it felt goood. in x3 they speed things up too fast and pre-maturely ejaculated on the storyline.

lastly i totally know that ppl have a difference of opinion but  i think i do know a thing or 2 about movies as its the field that i choose to work in

Rebecca Romijn has started her series Pepper Dennis, we all noticed she was rarely seen in the movie. I am not an avid XMEN follower, i did read the Dark Phoenix saga though, quite some time ago, but still.
There is more to this than simply saying there was poor character development because of the director. Anna Paquin again was barely seen in the movie, and instead we see lots of Shadowcat, who was almost nonexistent in the last XMEN movie.
But i with Baego on one thing....once i see Halle man get happy.

I thought they did well with the arc which they created for the movies. They tried to keep it as believeable as possible (even if it's fiction) and they held true to form. The evolution of the characters was enough and though they focused more on certain chars than others, I think they did quite well in ending the story for certain 'main' characters and though it was a bit saddening to see some of Xmen's most beloved characters come to an end, it was a fulfilling movie and definitely worth seeing.

PS was good to see Wolverine's healing factor REALLY come through for him apart from just making him a kiling machine.

I guess its all in how you look at it.....if you followed the Marvel X-men comics for years you'd obviously be disappointed. I mean alot of the characters were messed up and they changed the whole storyline.

But if you were looking at it as just a movie...well i guess you'd find it great. Personally i REALLY enjoyed it. I for one knew they could not fully follow the comic storyline, so i didn't go with that mind set.

To say the movie is absolute crap is unfair.They had some real cool parts....Like the whole scene with the house being lifted off the ground with Juggernaut and wolverine battling and the way Professor turned to wolverine just before he was disintegrated.

Or the way the 6 X-men stood up against a multitude of mutants ("no matter what,we hold this line !!!"), knowing they outnumbered and outgunned i mean .......that has alway been the underlying plot of x-men. The few standing up for right, justice and equality no matter the odds and no matter if they seem like traitors to their kind.

In my book the movie was good...one of the better ones i've seen for the year so far.

My only change would be i would at least let Wolverine get some from Jean...... i mean is long time he hunting down that. And i glad they take boyscout Cyclops out of the picture early...... punk bastard!

Well said Dread... but I disagree with the taking out Scott.. de man was a fundamental Xman from the very start, sure he's a boyscout but the man was also a symbol of dedication, commitment, etc. It was unfortunate imho that he ended as such... (esp as that leaves NO hope of a Cable movie... lol) but yeah it was a good movie. And as a fan of the comic and sure they messed up the chars a bit, but I think it's in keeping with the realistic approach. For those that don't know, Xmen was a comic founded on expressing the political and moral issues plaguing the US and the world over back in the day (see magneto==holocost survivor, Hulk==child abuse, Xmen (mutants)==discimination based on colour, etc). These movies are in keeping with those basic fundamentals and still deal with similar (if not the core) expressions of discrimination albeit mutant vs. Human. Ethnic cleansing all these things are tied in and though its not the same as the original, well I guess if you'd argue that, you'd also argue that the final fantasy movie "spirits within" was a departure from the RPG and was a FARSE... simpletons i'd say if that's the way you look at it.

Psylocke, believe it or not, was the purple haired Asian girl you saw next to Callisto (the tattooed girl with super-speed and the ability to sense other mutants) and Arclight (a.k.a. Prince) when Magneto appeared to the crowd of mutants in the ruins. She appears again in the laboratory, phasing through the wall (WTF?), right before they take Angel's father to toss him off the building. Close to the end when Dark Phoenix goes psycho, Psylocke is seen running away with Kid Omega, right before she is disintegrated.
