Columbus Communications also has a significant presence in Trinidad, through the acquisition of 100% of Trinidad and Tobago Trans-Cable Company Limited (Trinidad Cable). Trinidad Cable is the market leader in subscription video in Trinidad serving over 100,000 subscribers. Columbus Communications is currently deploying an advanced broadband network on the island of Trinidad to deliver the triple play of video, data and voice services. Columbus Communications owns 100% of FibraLink Jamaica Limited ("FibraLink"). FibraLink is now commissioning a submarine fibre optic network with three landing points in Jamaica with a connection to the ARCOS network in Dominican Republic. Designed with 160 Gb/s capacity, the FibraLink network will provide cost-effective bandwidth to the island of Jamaica at the ready for service date of March 31 st , 2006.
if this is the real deal then i make a huge mistake in renewing my TSTT DSL contract for TWO years PLUS taking smart choice bronze (finalised last week) ..... granted that it cut my dsl bill to $270/month before VAT for the next 2 years.
But still i will gladlypay a higher price for 512+K internet anyday.... dang!!
Voyd, what you see is what i get. i can even show you my bill. Phone/DSL bill went from $615 last month to $491 currently due (it was on average about $650 - $700/month)but I do hope that when the time comes for faster speed that TSTT will be generous enough to say "here you are, sir. We love you so much that we'll give you 768Kbps at least at your current price."
