I'm not gonna jump on board until they do better with the prices.  I'm not gonna pay for less speed and a wire than I would for ev-do.  When I spoke to Flow's CSR, she gave me the impression that several folks have said the same.
I'd believe u if you were right.

The benefit of  a wire is more consistant bandwidth and ping times , you can't play competitive FPS with EVDO , its just a nudge better than dialup in that department .

steups the rate card i got had double the upload bandwidth, atleast their pings are good and they seem to want to distribute nationwide.  TSTT stick on the their DSL coverage allowing shit like greendot to reach customers.

Think you mean KB/sec (Kilobytes)...just divide by 8.

1024 / 8 = 128KB/sec is your theoretical max.

scaR recently hosted a game on the TG server, I was one of the guys that joined his game to test the latency.  While i have no quantitative results I am pleased to report that the game was lag free and with minimal latency.  Gaming between TSTT & FLOW gets the green light.

from what i hear it eh bad, some dude that got it and sent out his comments on it... leh me post it......
i eh think it came from here so....

I've decided to write this review for all those wanting to know more about Flow's internet service since the website itself is difficult to navigate and offers very little information.

Note: The following review is based on the Click Unlimited 3 package.

First, an overview of the packages:-

- Click 20 -

20 hours per month
1 e-mail address
128 kbps (upload)
512 kbps (download)
$91.99

- Click Unlimited 2 -

5 e-mail addresses
128 kbps (upload)
1024 kbps (download)
$689.99

- Click Unlimited 3 -

unlimited access
1 static ip address
5 e-mail addresses
512 kbps (upload)
2048 kbps (download)
$1149.99

Second, an overview of the setup process:-

Requesting the service is a relatively simple procedure. It took me about 2 business days between calling them to request the package to having a Flow van outside my house. Installation was also fairly simple. Flow uses Arris telephony modems that must first be synchronized with your digital cable box before connecting directly to your PC. It takes about 15 minutes to synchronize with the box and a further 30 minutes, after connecting to your PC, to logon to the network. I personally ran into a minor hitch in that my modem refused to connect to the network even after waiting the 30 minute logon time. However, this was quickly remedied by the Flow staff and after about 3 hours I was finally online. Ideally, for most of you, the installation process should not take longer than 2 hours.

Third, the internet test:-

Having previously used TSTT DSL, I was immediately blown away by the speed at which web pages loaded images and video, although there was a bit of delay between requesting and displaying each page, most likely due to high latency associated with cable internet. Download speeds are amazing, easily reaching more than 5 times TSTT and GreenDot speeds. The downloads I attempted at both download.com and 3dgamers.com easily reached speeds of around 250 KB/s.

As far as P2P downloads go, Gnutella and eDonkey networks work pretty fast, achieving speeds of around 200 KB/s. Unfortunately, torrent downloads suffer the most for me. Due to the nature of torrents, a proper test is near impossible to perform but after 3 weeks of downloading, I noticed an average download speed ranging between 40 KB/s - 120 KB/s. IRC networks work by far the best, maxing out at speeds of around 250 KB/s on most servers. These high speeds are due mostly to the fact that the connection does not include a firewall like TSTT provides so software firewalls are recommended if you decide to go with Flow.

For those wanting to host web or gaming servers, despite what is written in the package details, Flow currently does not support static IP addresses. However, I have been informed that this feature should be up-and-running in the near future. Note that my PING tests to various local and foreign servers netted an average response time of 246 ms, which is pretty high for those wishing to host and play online broadband games via PC, PS3 or Xbox 360.

Fourth, service and reliabilty:-

After 3 weeks of using this service I've had few minor disconnects from the internet, probably due largely to my wireless router anyway. Other than that, the connection is pretty stable and speeds remain more-or-less constant throughout the day. Tech support is not that easy to contact and could be a bit more reliable. It took me nearly 2 weeks of calling every day before they could tell me that they didn't support static IP addressing yet. However, once your system is active, it's highly unlikely you're going to be calling tech support anyway. I just had to be thorough in all aspects of this review.

Closing, remarks and summary:-

Speed: 9/10

The speed blows TSTT DSL out of the water, for now. Download and upload speeds are higher than TSTT DSL, which is a plus for online gaming and file-sharing applications.

Reliabilty: 9/10

I rate this as a more reliable system than TSTT DSL since my DSL used to go down every time there was heavy rain lol.

Support: 6/10

As mentioned before, customer support could do with some infrastructure remodelling, but that's not a major issue for some people.

Cost: 8/10

When you look at it comparitively, the cost should get a 9/10 when opposed to TSTT DSL. However, since Flow is striving to build a "state-of-the-art broadband network" I think lower prices and higher speeds is a good marketing strategy to give them an effective edge over TSTT DSL.

UPDATE: I've been recently informed that over the duration of this year (2007), Flow plans on adjusting its internet prices for the current packages while increasing it's internet speed up to a maximum of 10 Mbps. For now at least, this is all just heresay since no official statements have been released.

So the big question in most people's minds is whether or not to take the plunge from TSTT DSL. Well if you have the extra cash and/or need the extra speed I definately encourage that notion. I've used TSTT DSL for 3 years before switching to Flow but I highly doubt I'll ever switch back. The good thing is there are no contract fees or penalities with Flow (unlike with TSTT), so if you ever decide that you need to change your package or provider it's hassle-free. Hopefully, I've opened some eyes and made some clarifications to those wanting to know more about Flow in this review. I hope it's good enough, it's the first review I've ever written.

10 days, 2 weeks thats nothing compared to the 4 months i waited for my adsl. yeah the 512/128 from flow sounds good but 2mb/512k would be even better for the same price.

also is it possible to uncap the cable modem to increase the speed.

i loving that, as soon as meh contract up i go trial them, if the latencies are not far from tstt's and VERY far from. i cool (providing they come down to the part of couva north considered the dogs), torrents even though they take a hit go still be an improvement 40K-120k i does get 20-34k if i lucky, on a good day, and i holding ah praymeeting...

TT$400 (approx.) aint bad, considering is 340 i think i paying for DSL.
