Computer geeks turn to Fight Club Revenge of the killer nerdBy Nick Farrell: Wednesday 31 May 2006, 09:50 CALIFORNIA POLICE are concerned about a new trend which is seeing Silicon Valley geeks taking part in a real life fight-clubs. Apparently, every couple of weeks a group of software developers gets together to brawl with almost every weapon available, from fists to pillowcases stuffed with tin cans. According to USA Today the fights are being filmed and are available online on DVD. It is all inspired by the 1999 flick Fight Club and is being seen as a way of Californian geeks to prove that they are real men. The fights are on private property so it is hard for the cops to swoop and stop them. They are concerned that it is only a matter of time before someone is killed. It seems after a day at a computer screen, geeks want to feel something real, even if reality is a softball bat being wielded by a bloke in a neighbouring cubical. µ
