TSTT Internet Service Interruption
« on: May 10, 2006, 11:04:27 PM »
Quote
Dear Valued Customer,

TSTT will be conducting routine maintenance work on our Internet system on Friday 12th May 2006 during the hours of 1:00am to 5:00am. During the maintenance period access to the Internet will be temporarily suspended. Therefore, you will not be able to send or receive Email, view web pages, download or upload data or perform any other Internet activities.

TSTT is in the process of enhancing their Internet systems by deploying new and improved technologies within the Internet infrastructure. With these enhancements the TSTT ISP will be better equipped to support the new broadband initiatives designed for the Internet. TSTT continues to upgrade their network to meet the challenges of the new and improved technologies on the Internet, thereby ensuring that you our loyal customers are provided with quality service.

We sincerely apologies for any inconvenience that this interruption may cause and we thank you for your continued confidence in TSTT Internet Services and we look forward to continue serving you.

Sincerely

TSTT Internet Services

So after Smallville Season 5 finale, you should disconnect and go to sleep.

Does this mean we're finally gonna see the long awaited upgrade of DSL speed?

We can only wait and hope.

Considering how inconsistent the service has been of late, maybe it's just to bring service back up to stable :p Otherwise I know they've been installing new meters at residents all over, maybe it's a cut over for that system.

Ok, hear the scene. TSTT is installing a new metering system that will be on the customer premise (ala the lamp post of inside of outside wall, etc). It connects back to a box installed every other 3-6 poles. Basically it will allow them to offer Broadband, traditional voice (well more likely digital voice), metering and even HDTV (Woot!!!) well at least that is what the tech told us when they were installing it. Also since it's at the edge of the customer premise, you will have the option to NOT have them install the phone lines thus you pay NO RENTAL FEE. However you will then be responsible to anything that happens on your premise. So if yuh doh wanna pay the rental and yuh phone stop woking cause yuh mango tree fall and buss down yuh line runing to yuh house, FIAH, yuh fix it yuhself. But it's cool to have the option. So yeah, DSL/phone/HDTV/onsitemetering, daz what dey doing now.

Win, what is this metering about. What is it and what does it do? Also did you ask the tech about a possible increase in speed? So the installation has already begun do they interrupt your service? Also, your connection unstable? I mine is always up and running very good.

TSTT DSL has been REALLY inconsistent lately ALL over the island. It better be b/c of upgrade cause if its just their network failing and they eh know why (which tends to be the case) i'd be most annoyed (if not surprised).
