Dear Valued Customer,

TSTT is in the process of enhancing its Internet systems by deploying new and improved technologies . With these enhancements, the TSTT ISP will be better equipped to support the new broadband content designed for the Internet.

Work in this regard will be done  on the Internet service on Wednesday, June 28th 2006 during the hours of 12:30am to 4:00am. During this period, customers using TSTT's Internet Services via fixed line or wireless will experience brief interruptions in service. This includes access to EMail, web pages, data downloads and uploads and other Internet related activities.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience that this interruption may cause but it is necessary in order for TSTT to continue providing the best quality of service possible.

Sincerely

TSTT Internet Services

Another one of TSTT's "upgrades" let's see what happens after Wednesday...

512 iwmc!!?
Fingers, toes, (and eyes) crossed.

It kinda funny how DSL users now complainin that 256k real slow.
Just 3 years ago, we only had 56k dialup.  Its amazing that anything actually got
done at that speed eh?
Look at the plethora of connectivity options we have now (from TSTT, and ONLY because they get some
COMPETITION idmc).

My Speedstream patiently awaits.

Yip paradyne routers. They are ADSL2 routers actually and are capable of speeds of 100Mbps. Dreadfully big and ugly things they are though.

yeah, they are slightly bigger and definitely less attractive but what irks me is the interface.

Just changing the username and password is a far more complicated affair than on the speedstream.

As is, seeing if you are connected at the moment. No clear "DSL" connectivity light either.

but if it brings in faster speeds then we could overlook these shortcomings.

My greatest concern is that they support NAT-T and/or greater Protocol forwarding support and/or IPSEC passthrough. Yeah VPN stuff I talking about here, as it stands, standard Speedstream modems are a problem for VPNs in fact i'd go as far as to say on TSTT infrustructure wit a standard dynamically assigned IP and basic Speedstream 4200 or 5200 IPSEC/L2TP vpns are ni impossible, VERY unreliable at best, what's your take on this Baego?

What I think everyone wondering, is what kinda speeds we talking about...

I remember someone posting a 8Mbps screenshot (that's 1MBps download speed)

So unless TSTTmcs can bring a connection that's as fast or faster than flow's rumoured 3Mbps, at an affordable price. we gonna see some mass exodus from their dsl users...

today I noticed ridiculously inconsistent performance.

repeats of the tstt bandwidth test shows it going from 40K to 256k.

very bizarre

since wednesday self my dsl connection downloads got slow

the weird thing is that thursday, friday and today  - the web sites are opening good speed BUT..

torrents are slow slow slow all of a sudden without any changing of any settings and HTTP downloading is the same way ..SLOW  - i'm talking 5KB (dial up slow lol on a DSL)

now the even more strange thing is that P2P downloading is fast XD (25-30KB) sometimes staight up to 33

so for a summary of wat i jus said :

WEB SITES - Opening good
HTTP DL -  3-5KB/s
TORRENTS DL - 8KB/s
P2P DL - 33KB/s

anyone having this strange problem since wednesday ?
