ok, what I missing here?

what is the big deal about the fanless cooling for the mobo? Many manufacturers do this as a matter of course.

My board right now is fanless.

Is there something I am missing?

Well nbridges are fanless now, but in the past, NFS in the case of abit and a8n in asus had a lot of fan failure problems. Even some of the high end active cooled nbridge asus 939/sli x16 boards are plagued by cheap @ss fans that fail real fast. They dont seem to want to put better fans themselves, so te next best thing is fanless solution

Well its' not just that, take into account the fact that heat is now moved away from yor video cards (which in their own right produce the most heat) and move it closer to the exhaust of your case, it's a big deal for cooling. Since cooling and effeciency/stability go had in hand it makes for a better design. Asus, MSI and others also have a similar design if i'm not mistaken on 1 or 2 choice mobos... can't rem which though...

Yeah true that because the traditional designs usually put the NB somewhere in the middle. Now its really placed closer to the back. Heatpipe from the sb sink runs straight to the much larger nb sink.
