Revolution screenshots (of games)
« on: April 10, 2006, 01:27:59 PM »
Even though the rev is reported to have only a  700mhz processor , 128mb etc.  If these screenshots are right the rev won't be too underpowered..

http://www.megagames.com/news/show.cgi?&idtype=console&database=1040&section=screens&
Plus the rev will be so cheap to produce nintendo might make a PROFIT selling them vs Sony and Microsoft making a loss on every console they sell .... interesting ..

The screens look like they have some nice lighting.. at least close to FEAR's level of graphics..

nice, i actually thinking bout buying one, even if it's the least powerful of the three.
for me with this system;
+the form, small and square, i ent like the smooth curves of the Xbox 360 and PS3 so much
+the ability to use SD cards to save games, will cut the cost again since these are cheap nowadays
+can play all from GC,N64,SNES&NES on it, (just hoping for the homebrew to come on board)
-the controller
-no so much power
just hope some 3rd party make a traditional controller for it.

Nintendo was never a company that depended on 3rd party companies to sell their system. They run on their own steam

never claimed that. *i* would just rather a more traditional controller.
no offense devon, but don't buy a Revolution, the fact that you see the controller as a negative is an indication that you not interested in the revolutionary aspect of the revolution, stick to roms.
ROMs only last so long.
I missed out on alot of good gamecube games because i didnt invest in a GC system. I could have gotten one borrowed but then i have a time limit on that. and since the Rev's comming out this year and it gonna be backward compatible it's good investment i can play the new Revolution games and the GC's.
as for the revolutionary thing. YES it is revolutionary, and mind you i never said it was uncool either way in a game you excited and i dunno bout you guys but i does be jumping up and down like if is my life depending on it, but imagine this i in my lil' living room and me and 10 buds having to space out there so we could have room to manuver this new control, i see it as a downside.

i never claimed you claimed that..i answered your 3rd party question with fact.

THing is I would agree with you in some ways if Nintendo were like SONY or SEGA or Microsoft doing the same thing..But Nintendo seems to excell SPECIFICALLY on this front.
Truth be told Nintendo was always forefront with inovation on consoles, from the shape and style of their controlers to the systems. They have always pulled through, they have always made profits. They have a frim grip on 10 % of the videogame market, namely the childrens market. It simply means, the inovation works and sells. With a track record like that for a company treading on unfamiliar ground and conquering it each time, i dont see the Rev controler being any different.

Snes and N64 roms will last you YEARS .. Snes had some of the best RPG's ever.. Chrono Trigger , Sieken Densetsu  , final fantasy 3/6....  plus fun platformers etc.

that's how i does sneak in my Yu-gi-Oh! cards....
as for the ROMS lasting years that is true, but i would still like to play the new stuff too you see, but my stubborn @$$ getting ah lil convinced, what shivadee saying is true (they practically started the gaming rev after all, actually 90% true, remember the virtual boy).
i'll keep an open mind about the controller(i didn't like the Donkey konga bongo's, but dred, that is real fun when you drunk)and try to limit the amount of reading i do that will influence my outake on it. but that doh mean i like it though, you hear. :P

in an (un)related note:
you know that yellow stuff that does get on the NES and SNES when you pack it down too long, how you get rid of that?

Although apparently they're getting good 3rd party support from early on, this time around.

I really dont care so much how the rev LOOKS but so much as how it plays. It could look like the current gen, and still going to be very competative with MS and Sony. I am actually considering getting on actually, but after the ps3 of course :D. And I dont have to worry about xbox exlusives that I actually want to play...my gf is getting a 360!
