I was looking at this 3d map of POS today. It showing from by fatima back to hilton, and movietowne to city gate. And the whole time I was just thinking how bad it would be to import it into a game and roam around POS with a FPS.

Imagine it "Operation 1990"

Choose your Team: Army, Insurgents, Looters.

Thank you for selecting Looters
Choose your Class: Spranger, Piper, Mr. BIG.

Mission 1 Objectives: Make your way from POS General Hospital to the corner of Duke and Frederick Steet. Use stealth to avoid contact with the ARMY.

Mission 2 Objectives: Steal a 19 inch colour TV. Make your way to the corner of Prince and Nelson unseen.
Additional information: Added weight of the television makes you move 30% slower. Purchase a 10ball for added stamina (Motion menalty decreased to a minimum of 20% over 40 seconds, using $10ball decreases your stealth ability).

Mission 25 BONUS ULTRAPIPER MISSION: Make your way to the corner of Sackville Street and Wrightson Road. Steal Industrial Sized Refrigerator. Make your way to the corner of Gordon St. and Charlotte St..
Additional Information: Police have Barricaded many roads. If you are caught you will be beaten and locked up. Attacking a police officer will trigger shoot on sight reactions from other nearby officers.
All civilians have been armed with 3line cutlasses. If you are caught by a civilian they will planassyou and attempt to escort you to a nearby Police.

Speial $200balls can be purchased for use in this level.

Allyuh figure I could make that game and sell it for a profit?

Great idea with some new original stuff but what i really want to know is where you was looking at that 3d map of POS and where can I get me a copy ?

What you talking about hoss? It ha picture of a piper running down the road with fridge on his back, they take it back in 1990. Was in the papers and all. Wham yuh was only watching all the reruns of lil mermaid during the coup?

And if a ordinary piper could handle an ordinary firdge then an ULTRAPIPER could carry the fridge while he scaling walls and ting.

I suspect that ULTRAPIPERS were responsible for the theft of an in ground swimming pool up in Norway some years ago. Would you like to know more?

Actually the remake of NARC had the option of using drugs, but that was third person I think. That particular part was just something I was thinking would be funny to do in single player.

Trini, a map of POS would never fly in yankeeland gaming. And yeah I know all about the piracy thing, but I figure since it would be by definition small and simple, only a handful of maps really and nowhere near 25 missions per group, plus using someone else engine and I not about to pay for that( the bastards) dat is a minor matter. But it could go out as a shareware mod for a game or something.

Course it have men who will tell me that because the first thing I think of when I see the 3d map, is running around in a FPS blowing gamers away how I violent and ting. And I'm sure we'd get the obligatory church group saying how it is the spawn of the devil. And no doubt the minister of national security would say that this is a tool for training insurgents.

IS one of them glossy paper maps they's give out to the tourists and dem. Have a map of T&T on the back, and POS, and a close up of ariapita avenue. Shows some of the landmarks, like zen, pecos, ma pau, movie towne, embassy locations, dat kinda ting. Was by no means complete, but whatever.

Most of the cuboidal buildings was just done with a "wall" stretched over the top of the building. Some were done real nice though.

When I get down in work I'll see what contact information it ha on it.

Yeah is called 3D POS Carnival 2006 and was done up by Ernest Matthews from Digital Art Ltd. Located in woodbrook, 622-0737 or 622-2341. The one I'm looking at is a "free complimentary map"

Looking at it again I'm seeing some things, little things eh, that just doh look like they right. Some of the angles looking off. Doh get me wrong eh, it looking like the man put real hours into it, and most of the ones he clearly did some extra work on looking real good.

All in all is a good map, easy to look at, great with the visual landmarks. I done decide I teefing this copy for myself. It covered in ads for like TSTT and clico and carib and ting, but that not bothering me. Yuh could probably find out where have some if yuh call the company and ask.

I was wondering, does anybody on this forum have any experience with 3d appz like Maya or 3d Studio Max and if so have they ever thought about doing something similar to this (3d map of POS)?

It could be very usefull for an upcoming project I am working on.

No worries. Now all you need is a map to help you find their office. LOL

I never did but back in the UWI days we used to dream about teefing a man project (AUTOCAD version of UWI) and putting it in Unreal and sniping people from on top of the library.

We never manage to while I was there as far as I know.

I'm sure that GATT has some talented map makers who can put together a rough layout of downtown POS. It could be like a GATT community thing with different people contributing.

We would have to port it to all the majour FPS though so that we could get the maximum gameplay out of it.

das what them people in Norway said about their 5m in ground swimming pool. 18 feet in diameter pool just gone. Poof. vanished. Gone. Is one ULTRAPIPER do it I tell you! All by himself. He use 2 $200ball. Take both of them in two Looooooooooooooong pulls, dig the pool outta the ground, toss in all the pump and ting, lift dat up on his back and gone down the road.

Never underestimate the power of the ULTRAPIPER.

Yeah shivadee that woulda been cool. Sigh. It have real good spots a sniper could get to if you use a slightly smaller than real scale or antigrav. Sigh.

it not hard, but to do it by your self will be.

What about opensource? Nobody look at this alternative?
If you could make a small simple game as opensource instead of having a specialized group of people you could have almost anybody with programming know-how contributing even if the originals have left the project.I mean there must be alot of people here with programming knowledge.

try using 3dmax there is a demo on the net. they boast of 3d animantion n rendering as well as game development.....wouldnot hurt to try man dont let ur idea die.....

I have the full version of 3dstudio max 7 but trust me it is not so easy to make something as complex as a map of downtown POS unless it's your full time job.
