It's the perpendicular tech that allows them to fit more data on a platter. I mentioned this somewhere else... anyways 750GB is great.... but imagine if that fails??? 0_o

Well I would think you'd use RAID5 for performance, parity and failover... and that's minimum 3 drives. So yeah 3. A mirror with 2 is good read speed, lower write speed, but 5 would offer better both plus your redundancy.
