starforce is the devil

Ever tried to get Chaos theory to work? Ever succeeded? even people who bought the original CD can't get it to work .... Besides the horrors it introduces , ranging from damaging hardware and screwing up windows , it may promise to make PC gaming a very unhappy and pirate free place ...
I just uninstalled chaos theory and my whole system refused to boot up.. i had to go into safemode and system restore the game and starforce back into my hard drive to get it to work...
If the majority of games start to use Starforce , and there is no way to crack it , i swear i will sell my graphics card , half my RAM and my 2nd hard drive and get a PS3 ....

There are ways around SF...but they're far too complicated/troublesome for the general public...
The makers of StarForce recently claimed a huge victory because nobody showed up at their Russia offices to proove to them that SF actually causes problems...apparently they were expectin somebody to fly their way to Russia with their PC and show them how it affected their system...not to mention they had to replicate it on another machine at SF HQ...and for what you may ask? US$1,000...rejoice...for ye hath won the mc lotto after carryin ur arse all the way to Russia and back...with a screwed PC in tow no less...I wonder why nobody showed them where to put SF...

You have to open up your bag of trix with SFCure...hiding emulation software etc...and that's just the beginning...there's also the hardware aspect...unplugging drives and all kinda ish...sorry but
very
few games are worth me turnin my machine off to unplug hardware, jumpin through hoops, and beggin for scooby snacks before I play them...

Software isn't enough to do the trick most times...you will likely have to physically unplug the drives etc...
Antiblax worked a few times...but it's buggy as hell...

Starforce protected games such as Chaos Theory ans Prince of Persia T2T indeed are quite hard to crack as Czar pointed out. Other than software hacks and unplugging drives there are ways to bypass it. Just put all your cd drives in usb external enclosures or convert them to serial ata drives. I did the latter and now my POPT2T and Chaos Theory work real nice...alwayas a way around.

pop2? you mean pop3? ummm yeah chaos theory still gives trouble. I find myself having to retry the disk check about 10 times before it works. T2T on the other hand does not give that trouble. I find it wierd that T2T come out after chaos and its easier to get that to work. I would have thought that UBI would have made things harder, not easier.

yeah, starforce is tough stuff
It comes in different flavours though and only the most expensive option is troublesome.
Games with less intense configurations will be beaten easily.
Chaos Theory and Trackmania Sunrise had the highest levels of StarForce. Very difficult games to work around, if you're into that sort of thing.
Incidentally, Chaos Theory doesn't use StarForce authentication for the multiplayer aspect of the game. It's only a problem if you want to do the single player.
