Opera for Nintendo handhelds out Makes a lot of senseBy Charlie Demerjian: Tuesday 21 February 2006, 07:18JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT they had done it all, or almost all of it, Opera takes a left turn and delivers something you were just not expecting. A couple of days ago, they released Opera for the Nintendo DS in Japan. If you stop and think about it, the DS is the perfect platform for a browser, decent screen area, touch sensitive, and Wi-Fi enabled out of the box. Add in cheap, and you have a winner. This match could be really interesting for the exec on the go, it potentially has a lot more use than the cramped screen of a Treo, or worse yet a WinCE device, and it is definitely much smaller than a laptop. If you need info on the go, whip out the DS and surf away. Best of all, you can now expense it, and a few games, for testing purposes of course. µ
