MPAA found illegally copying movies

What happens when an organization that is best known for inveighing against the unauthorized copying of movies gets caught doing exactly that? The Motion Picture Association of America was caught with its pants down, admitting to  making unauthorized copies of the documentary This Film Is Not Yet Rated in advance of this week's Sundance Film Festival.

Personally, after what CCTT did to Cartoon Network viewers a week and a half ago, I'm not entirely sure I want to hear the word 'cable' again. If MPAA was responsible for that in the first place, well....serves them right.

MPAA sent a man down to T&T back in 2000 to talk to the Govt about not letting people steal the sattelite feeds for rebroadcast as cable... Nobody on their end realised that the acting PM (was was acting at the time as the PM was away on a trip when it happened) was involved in the whole Cable conglomerate thing, and the company that was running the CCTT was owned by his "family group of business".

As I recall this was after a yankee was brought in to run the show and after they removed the spanish channel. The reason why we get so much spanglish channels is that we are using the latin american feed.


Of course I am old and my memory is infirm and any and all of what I said above may be the ephemeral products of my fevered imaginations. *shrug*
