Pretty obvious question.
I wonder who paid $75 at Globe Friday night for the opening?
minimize spoilers, please.

To be honest, I'm seeing ads all over the place for the movie, and yet, I still don't have much of a clue of what it's really about. I hope it's worth the hype. And the $75 price tag for a ticket. You know, one would think that at
that
price, they'd give you a piece of the Mona Lisa to take home as a souvenir, or something.....

I saw it last night at the local cinema here in Calgary...funnily enough, there were a few Trinis in the seats right behind me...cyah miss dat accent nah!
I thought it was quite enjoyable and a good movie overall. I was fortunate enough to have read the book a year ago (better yet, it was the collector's edition with all the full colour pics), so it was still relatively fresh in my mind. And although they skip some of the details, or don't quite stress on certain things as can be done in a book, it was a pretty good translation to the big screen imo. I still prefer the book tho

I read the book and it's EXCELLENT, as for how much of it is actually true, well that's the subject of debate, where this story really shined however was on the idea that it COULD be true since alot of what he mentions makes sense on 1 level or the other. Imagine this book made such a stur that the church actually did a documentary showing what was fact and what was fiction in the book? actually they're not the only ppl that did such, if you go to CERN's website (if you've read angels and demons) they actually have a Q&A regarding questions ppl had from reading the book. It basically denied alot of what he said in the book. The best way to take any of these things is with a pinch of salt but then hey it's a novell so if you think it's fact you need to get your head examined. He takes alot of facts (even perhaps borderline) and runs with them. He's (Mr. Brown) is good at that and this movie should be good (considering the cast) and the material they had to work with. I will see it when I return home (in CA atm).

If you want to watch a movie with controversy watch THE PROPHECY trilogy. Essentially it has allot to do with believed battle in heaven. The story has many focuses, but the entire trilogy does stay on the fall and rise of Gabriel. Your boy Christopher Walken is Gabriel, so yuh know it good.
First one is excellent, second one has allot of story behind it, 3rd one is very good too. Personally they got one of the best actors to play the Devil in a movie. You would swear if you came face to face with a mortal version of Satan, this would be it.
"Are you God?"
