How does gatt make money?

Just wondering, I remember  a couple years ago  there was a debate about charging a membership fee ( which i endorse btw). Who pays for web hosting, the bandwidth charges, all the misc  charges, not to mention salaries (is anyone payed ?)

I mean the site isnt excatly lit up with ads. I for one would gladly donate 100 dollars simply becuase i enjoy being a gatt member.  Why isnt there  a click here to donate to the cause button on the front page? The mods  could maybe give  a t shirt or something or prolly  a discount on all oficial gatt sponsored events and sweats. but thats justs me. if 100 people donated 100 thats 10, 000 it could put a small dent into the anual operating costs

So to everyone who works here ( whom i doubt gets paid) hats off to you.

Thanks for the kudos QZA.

As it stands two people get paid as "GATT employees" and they run GATT HQ during evenings and weekends.

The current upkeep of the site and various charges are bourne by yours truly. Tech Source (a computer company owned by Neon, Trinity and myself) pays the employees.

We have milled over reinstating the membership fee over the years since it's abandonment.  I think the last conclusion was that we would have tangible benefits for paid members such as ID Cards, Tshirts, discounts, etc...

Whereas, non paying members would just enjoy the website and and other such freebies.

Love the idea of donations and will seek to set that up asap.

Will raise the issue again, but good looking out.

Definetely something on the agenda for execution in 2006.
