well i pulled some strings and the best i was able to pull off was $250 per game. So it's official now, each tournament will be $250 to enter.
1st Place- trip to the states, free airfare and hotel accommodations and an XBOX 360.
2nd prize- a complete gaming pc
3rd prize- an XBox 360
4th prize- a ps2
5th-15th prizes are all also very very good.

There is no one in here who could tell me that they can get sponsorship for all of this, it would be damn ridiculous. This is Trinidad and gamers don't have any big set of support like how they have it in other countries.

For registrtation info call Virtual Zone in Trinicity Mall, or come down.

Hear what, uber.

Try providing that many prizes with $50 a head.
You'd hit poverty faster than Rosie O' Donnell could polish off a buffet table.
And I should know, I ran a tournament with so much on the line at $50, and, despite the overall success of the thing, it was serious catch-a$$ for me, because there was a lot more expenses that couldn't have been forseen.

So, unless you have personal knowledge of how these things are run and how much they end up costing the sponsors in the long run, keep your damn opinions to yourself and let those who know about these things worry about the price tag, all right?

NEO. Answer me something? Seeing as YOU KNOW SO MUCH MORE ABOUT 'THESE THINGS' than I do throw a yu-gi-oh tournament with a $400 entrance fee. Don't forget to purchase all your prizes! See if you don't hit the poverty line even faster!! As the much wiser than you (sad) Baego said the key is to use lots of sponsorship so you can have the prizes without that large entrance.  Because if the entrance fee is so high no-one will enter and you will accomplish nothing anyway. Having a $400 entrance fee and a million dollars in prizes will still not succeed (My guess is you are trying to succeed right?) because people just don't have money like that to use to enter something like that, you have to think about things from all angles.

I'm overly sarcastic but I have common sense, seems Common Sense isn't so common...

I just realised it's actually happening, $250? Good luck guys and all the best in your endeavour! (for real) I still think that if you had split this up and run a series of smaller gains tournies you would have come out better, but good luck! I may even enter a tournament and if i win I'll save you some money, all i want is the XBox, I don't really want to go to the states...

Anyway... please don't let this be like arena.... Post details and definite starting times for all of the tournies ASAP. I'm interested in the SOF rules specifically. Be sure to alocate enough time to each event. If hell froze over and you'd actually like me to help with things such as rules, setting up game mechanics and time frames I'll help. I admit I'm brash but still on some level I'm tryin ta be helpful. Tough love man... tough love....
