Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
« on: November 20, 2005, 05:42:14 PM »
Alyuh that movie MAD!!!!!!!! I mean i watch the 1st one and find it was nice. the 2nd one was better, the 3rd was very dread. THIS one was better that that.. it was much darker, people does dead an ting. My bro read all the books and even though they left out parts from the novels (which is expected) this one was still really really good.

Over 2 and a half hours long, and it get a pg13 rating for blood an ting. Good movie, even if you not a Potter fan, like me, and still like a good movie, this is it.

Avada Kedavra in yuh MC!!!!

Shivadee, you had to tease me eh? I have to wait til wednesday and if i don't finish early then is the weekend for me...and i counting down the days since August...but tell me does your bro think that they did not massacre it as much as the previous movies? Cuz i am really hoping they didn't....i read all the books too....about ten times a piece and if they messed it up i will be extremely pissed.

Well you seem like someone who likes to nit pick a movie from a book so you wont like it. My bro on the other hand prefered the one that all the fans didnt like, which was Azkaban. I never read the books so i thought the movies just got better. A movie never follows a book per-se. LOTR was a sort of exception.

Yuh know, I see this ting 3 times now. I don't have much to say, other than while it does have its shortfalls, this is easily the best film of the bunch and is a must see.

U is the first person to say this. But i never read the book. All the book lovers liked it. Your comment was a first, and they said it totally lived up to its expectations. Of course they leave stuff out, but according to what people told me they did NOT leave out anything important really. And the movie was done over 2 and a half hours.

Granted, the beginning went by very quickly, and there were a lot of cuts...but well and truly, the important stuff is all in there. It is virtually impossible to directly translate the book into film...it would be far too long, drawn out and quite frankly boring, as situations come off differently on paper and on screen. The film, no matter how faithful it is intended to be, should always be seen as an adaption...based on to book, but not a replica of the book.

The film showed the characters growing up, and it served its purpose to show that Voldemort is in fact back, the dark times have fallen and nothing will remain the same anymore.

ever notice that anime movies are sh!t compared to anime series? Its because in the TV series they have all the time in the world. In a movie they have to cut it for time constraints. To add to that, they want to appeal to the maximum audience, meaning it have to be watchable to as much ppl, not just Potter fans

that movie was great!!! much better than the 3rd one. They left out some parts that were semi important and DOBBY MOST OF ALL!!!!! But relatively it was an excellent adaptation of the book. Can't wait for the next one!

Thought it was good too, but also it was very very dark, and when you're in Brooklyn and flanked by LOUD children on all sides and you walk in the theater an hour into the movie, the experience isn't quite the same. As someone whose yet to read the books, it was a very awesome movie. It didn't feel like it had as much of an investigative feel as the others, although the prev situation mentioned probably explains that.

Also, are all British children hot? What de hell was goin on at that school?
Who knew that that was Ralph Fiennes?

The movie was pretty decent, I must say.
