I have been playing the Sims 2 for a while now and I must say it is a vast improvement over the first one. Everything is in full 3d now and you have full customization of your character. You can make it look almost exactly like you if that is what you want to do.
My game runs great except for 2 things:
1) The Build mode doesn't allow me to actually build anything.
I can't expand my house. Even in the tutorial that comes with the game it just doesn't allow me to build
anything. Sure I can choose my tools and all that but when I try clicking on the floor to lay my foundation
down I get nada.
2) When I go to the menu to save my progress it doesn't allow me to save.
I can only save by exiting the game in which case it asks me if I would like to save first and then it does.
I think that maybe something is wrong with the no-cd patch that I am using but other than these 2
problems everything is fine.
I have searched for a different no-cd patch but I have had no luck so far. Does anybody have a patch that works properly? Send me the link where I can download it or e-mail it to me please.
I love the building features in the Sims and it is seriously holding me back right now. I married Nina Calliente from Pleasantville and she moved in with her girlfriend but the house is too small for all 3 of us. They were loaded though so I don't regret it but if I can't expand my house I may either have to move out (in wich case I loose all the cool stuff i have at my pad) or kill off the girls and start dating someone else (but I am not ready to become a murder in the game yet).
